Keep listening to him. He is a musical master.
I've heard him play things that seemed impossibly ridiculous.
Ever heard a Phil Bomb? He caused the Oakland earthquake years back with one note.

China i saw Marshall Tucker band about 10 yrs ago and the original bass player was just as good or better than Phil...that dude was playing lead parts like it was no biggie...

Tommy Caldwell was a great bass player RIP, but I would never compare him to Phil Lesh.

Phil Lesh will leave you naked running towards the mountians.

I may be mistaken ,but I think the Dead and MTB played a show together.

I've seen them 10 or 20 times ........they were a great band and Toy was a fun guitar player to say the least, but Paw........lets not be comparing T.C. to Phil!

Phil is most likely the most underrated musician in the world!

I would ventur to say Phils talents riveled Jerry's.
He was always kind of in the background, but if you listen to him he plays bass like a lead guitarist, bass, and percussionist.
He's fuckin all over the place.

Actually I don't believe so, just did a quick check of deadbase and there not on the guest list.

You got to see alot of good bands though.
Plus with the Dead we have it all on tape.
It's not the same as live, but it's still absolutaly amazing to listen to Dead CD's of live shows from 68-78. Completley mindbending.

I would agree with that!

Phil just never had the voice that Jerry did!
