When I used the PF Tek (along with PF syringes) I always saw growth in less than 5 days.

Is it a slow growth starting as a small pin or is it nothing one day and nickle size the next?

So I should put the jar back in the incubator and quit looking at it with the magnifying glass trying to see if anything has grown..

How to up the humidity? [Re: Cyber]
    #2826282 - 06/24/04 11:37 PM (19 years, 9 months ago)

Hi,

I have been waiting about 3 weeks now. I have 12 1/2 pint jars. 10 are showing signs of myc. 1 jar is almost completed. The rest are working on it. Very strange. The humidity in my rubbermaid is only 65. I am told it needs to be 80 or 86 f? How do I reach this tempature or humidity? I have a blanket over the jars stuck in my closet with no light. I am damn sure its the humidity.

lol waiting is definately the hardest part but trust me its very rewarding when you see little baby mushrooms growing. some of my first batch took literally 3 weeks to fully colonize and one of them still isnt done, while the second batch (wide mouth jars this time) showed signs within 2-3 days and completed colonization within a week. just make sure your substrate isnt too dry and maintain optimal temps and youre good to go!
