Turning down many people with the liquid, i got called dumb and "sucks to be you". Scene was defintly getting rougher then last year, but i dont think i can ever miss the roos.

I feel like I should start packing brass knuckles out there. I'm done with festivals I think, or atleast on hiatus. I could change my mind by next year but I'm doubting now. I really prefer seeing one or two bands at a time, I miss to much otherwise and it drives me nuts trying to get it all in.

Omega Security (the mounted patrols) have been doing festival security for Phish for at least the last 5 years. They have a history with this type of "scene" and aren't there for "intimidation." The Omega people are wonderful folks and it takes a lot to train a large animal like that to stay cool and calm in the kind of choas a festival Lot can develop.

I remember being at Big Cypress over NYE in Florida for Phish in 99. The Omega people were AWESOME, by the last day most of them had their horse tackle decorated by hemp and flowers and other hippie gifts, really cool.

To call these people mounties for intimidation is wrong, these folks are on your side. All they are watching out for is people fighting or stealing, they don't give a rat's behind if you spark a joint in front of them, as long as you aren't trying to blow hits in their animals nose.

Well during the tour, they sell the soundboard cuts of the past shows on CD, and then I'm sure someone will rip it to mp3.. The tour is over in august, so it'll probably be around in september.

You should've came out filthy, you would've had a blast!  :cool:

They wherent very friendy to the guy with the nitrous tank. I had no problems with them and i often saw people chatting and petting the horses, but they are obviosly on huge horses so people see them and not act like fucks (intimidation, maybe wrong word and didnt mean to upset anyone. Wouldnt they be intimadating the fucks not to act up tho?).

i was in camp alvin a lot. I met some nice folks from fairfax virginia and helped them carry some coolers and stuff for a million miles so they let us chill there and kept us high and full of food....not to mention whole foods beer :smile:

any of you guys headed to phish's last festival, coventry? i'm probably gonna try and go. hopefully won't be as hot as roo was. looks like a fun festival. that, and i know i can get some good cheap blotter there! anyone else plan on going?

i am not saying that a lot of people on this board don't listen to jam bands, but you shouldn't just go to a music festival for the drugs.....the music is what brings the people together, not the "bombin blotter"

music forums have a name for people who go to music festivals just for the drugs
