At the height of the drama in 2020-2021, I saw way more people with homemade masks/bandanas than with n95s.

Besides, masks don't cover eyes or ears. You may not know this but ears, nose, throat, all connected.

By "drama" are you referring to hundreds of thousands of people who were drowning in their own lungs or dying in any other manner of horrific ways from covid, while many millions more were severely debilitated?

You don't need to cover your ears to prevent covid, and there's not much evidence that infection through the eye happens at any significant rate. Surgical masks and even just shitty cotton and bandana type things worked fine with relatively brief exposure with the original covid strains.

In all cerealness I do see your point. But do you agree that when discussing other viruses related to the common cold, we are told, when convenient, that eyes and ears are vectors and we're advised to not touch either when out in public without washing our hands?
