Rant about "friends"

Or should I say informant.

I don't want to post too much information because my case is still open. I got arrested with someone I've known for a long time and he totally ratted me out. This is not a distant friend, he has came over basiclly everyday since I was 12. I trusted this person with my life many times and he knows me like I know myself.

When we were arrested I reminded him that there is no evidence, and they can't prove anything unless you tell them, DO NOT TELL THEM..
But when they gave him a few threats and he quickly cracked. (WTF?!)

I didn't find this out until today when I talked to my lawyer, it's been a couple weeks and I kept asking him if he said anything, "I didn't say a word, I'm your boy you know me.. ect..".

I don't trust anyone now, and will never completely trust anyone again. I have to confront him and tell him he is a pussy ass narc informant today..

WTF

There's no guaranteed way to read people -- it's an art, not a science -- but I'd always be leery of someone who says things like, "I'm your boy."

No, thank god there is no time to serve, but when I go to trial I know that I am going to have to pay some fines :frown:

everybody is a potensial rat. seriously

there is a diffrence in hanging out with friends and talk and beein arrested and confronted by police, you know there is a risk you end up in jail, you think about family, you think about your life. Its easier said than done to shut up. I discovered this the hard way, just like yourself, and since that day I decidet that if you gonna do something right you gotta do it for yourself and keep everything else on a strictly buisness level, meaning that you dont involve friends in buisness. I dont know what you was arrested for and it doesnt matter, i think the same goes for just about any situation.

Thank you guys for the support, the thing is.. if found guilty, I would be the one facing the charges in this case.. he REALLY had nothing to worry about, but instead he incriminated both of us, and now things are going to be more difficult.

this is why the first rule for anything illegal is "tell no one, show no one"

a great deal of warrants are served because an ex-gf or former friend has seen your grow, before the cops can attain a warrant they need 2 things, admission from you to the informant (not so important if the second is met) or to have actualy seen the grow setup and can give its location... after this a warrant can be obtained and a search dont... normaly in a raid the cops know where the stash is because of the informant....

I feel for ya man... I went through it with a friend from early childhood at the age of 14... you only think you know someone...
