There’s very little evidence people get infected in any significant amount through anything other than through the respiratory system. Maybe a small amount of fecal-oral.

Someone could do an omicron specific serosurvey. It wouldn’t have to be very big to get a good idea of the general percentage that has been infected. It could be 30. It could be 90.

Do you have your month's worth of supplies, like I been harping on for years now?

If so, ride it out.

If you have a GP, inform them you have covid and call some family and friends to let them know you have it and to check up on you regularly.

If you don't have youir supplies, tell a friend to deliver a box of ready to eat healthy groceries to your door, ring and step five paces back. You can pay them electronically. Make sure to include cough lozenges, the candy type, of the sugar free type.

God is with you.

Expect either a short week of illness or a long month.

Exactly. It is pretty obvious who is a likely spreader and who isn't. Listen to the cough. What is the consistency of the mucus? Is the cough constant or only when moving or trying to deep breathe? From what I can tell, most of the spreading is probably being done by a few of the sickest people- at least, with omicron. Say, for example, omicron turns out to have an r0 of seven. I expect you wouldn't see a distribution hovering right around 7; you'd probably see 90%+ in the non spreader or low spreader group and a small minority who got anywhere from 15 to 100- hell, there are no limits. Any sick person who wants to treat the world like that pandemic video game can go nuts

I've seen incidents where patients were being housed in a double room for 2 or 3 days and one of them unexpectedly came up positive for covid right before surgery but the other one is still negative even after all that "exposure". That patient wasn't coughing at all; he was totally asymptomatic.

Thank you much Asante! That means a lot  .

Last night was really bad I was starting to get worried. Terrible body aches and it hurt just to touch my skin.

After a decent nights sleep I am feeling much better today and it seems like I'm going to get through this *fingers crossed*


And yes! I am sooooo blessed - not only to have a months supplies but also people in my life who can check up on me.

Praise God for real on this one as I was starting to get really concerned last night because of how bad my symptoms got.


Today I'm going to order some fresh food for curbside pickup , and also hopefully spend some time outdoors in the sun to get some natural Vitamin D.

2% of the unvaccinated population in NYC has been hospitalized with covid over the past three weeks. Just fucking imagine if 90% of the city hadn’t been vaccinated.



The unvaccinated in NYC are dying from omicron at the same rate as the general population died at the peak of the first wave in NYC. All across the country the unvaccinated are now dying like New Yorkers did in April 2020. Could have been prevented. Unbelievable

It never ends. This new BA.2 Omicron subvariant is replacing the original Omicron, and people are getting reinfected within weeks of their first infection. This could be yet another distinct wave. If an infection only last a few days and the virus has cleared before your cellular immunity has matured, you don’t make a lot of antibodies until you get infected again.

I think it’s going to get relabeled the Pi variant

I dont know what underlining health conditions you guys in the US have but the Omicron strain hit the UK really hard over Christmas ... and NOBODY Vaccinated Or None-vaccinated is being hospitalised due to Omicron who hasn't Type 1 diabetes Plus severe commodities i.e. severe cardiovascular disease , average age high 80s ( this is from my own personal experience ) Derby Royal England

Even with the Delta + The average age for fatalities was 82.5 with 3.6 commodities


The UK is now below its winter flu daily Fig of 250-300 deaths per day

The UK has much higher vaccination rates
