I have seen them live many many times and absolutely love their music. These guys have all been around a long time and know how to make good music and put on one hell of a show. It always used to amaze me that Greg Allman could somehow play piano, sing, smoke, and drink all at the same damn time. I have a hard time playing my guitar a singing at the same time.
They are certainly still playing together although the lineup has changed a bit in the last few years. Greg has veared off of the path of self destruction and gotten himself back to a level that is even better than the old days and they have a VERY good new guitarist named Derrik Truks.(he is actually the son of the drummer Butch Trucks I believe.) He is amazing and although he respectfully holds true to the Allman Bro's origional feel,he brings an exciting and youthfull new twist into their music.
A final note about the Allman Brothers band is that they seem to love shrooms and display many many artistic shroom images on a screen behind them the whole time they are playing. You feel like the ticket guy should have handed you your ticket and a few grams and said,"enjoy the show".
Ok I guess I have gone on enough about one of my favorite bands, but I must say that if you ever get the chance to go to their show...DO IT!
See Ya, MYKEY

Yeah the Allman Brothers are definately one of the greatest bands of all time. They may sound a little different now, but I've heard nothing but good about them, and from what I've heard I'd say they still rock. I read a biography on the back a while back...I think it was called Midnight Riders, or something to that effect (it was a play on one of their songs I know for sure) and it talked about them eating mushrooms a lot and it's really a great story. Duane played with eric clapton on the Derick and the Dominoes album, and is actually a lot o the predominant guitar on songs like Layla.
