What are you referring to?

Placebo surgery for Parkinson's disease. I suppose for Randi's challenge I would classify it as: Faith healing. And what makes it a good placebo effect for Randi is that Parkinson's disease has been studied for decades and the physical correlates in the brain have been mapped over and over again. There are very real physical deficits that are pointed to as responsible for the symptoms. Yet a placebo surgery results in no physical change in the suspect area while there is as much reduction in symptoms (e.g., tremors) as in a real surgery or common neurochemical medications.
