One thing I find fascinating about chemical experiences is how they can change the perception of time. I noticed this with pot when I first started smoking and then more intensely with acid. I just find it really interesting how the sensation of time gets so dilated when you’re tripping.

The biggest time dilator for me has been Ketamine where the 15-20 minutes always feels like several hours. What cool experiences and insights regarding the concept of time  have you gotten from tripping? And which chemicals have given you the most unbelievable time distortions?

Dxm killed the sense of time and created an entrance into daydreams for me.  Further than that, the lonelier you are, the more time feels repetitve and distant...like it's been six years, yeah right, more like 6 months for example.  I'm ruled by the clock with my smoking habit.  Still ballin :heart:

Benzo withdrawal. It wasn't so much a distortion as time completely vanished all together. It didn't just feel stretched out, it's so hard to adequately explain. I'd lay in bed in agony for hours and look up at the clock and literally like 1 minute would've passed. But also things that happened just a few minutes ago would feel like happened a lifetime ago. And chronologically, everything was just all fucked up. Like in my memory I'd remember clicking post, getting up to get on the computer, crawling out of bed, typing out my post.. in that order.

Time lost all meaning. It fucked with my head so bad because the effect was very strong. It's not like being bored or miserable and so it just seems to take longer. It's a completely different perception. Extremely alien.

Word. Never taken benzos long enough to get significant w.d'z but once they get bad enough, I think any substance that creates strong physical dependence is probably somewhat comparable in some of the aspects of pure agony. Full blown heroin withdrawals are certainly close to true hell on earth cuz of some of the stuff you mentioned. Once you get into day/night 3-4 when sleep becomes impossible and yet there's zero energy to do anything, its the perfect encapsulation of being stuck in a sense prison.

Once a more positive note: while dissociatives are the no-brainer go-to for time-dilation fun, a few of the more unusual and intense time-manipulation trips ive had were on Acid+mdma+meditation. Something clicked just right to where i could literally control my perception of the flow of the world around me, separate from myself, like a vcr player. Meanwhile I felt like i could navigate this space in a sort of secluded energy bubble. Was sitting in a busy crowd of people and first slowed them down more and more until time practically stopped, and yet my thoughts and awareness were going on normal speed relative to everything else, which must have just been super fast.. But then i was able to speed up and slow down the crowd just by willing it, instantly. One of the most intense live sensory modulation effects i've experienced.

I saw time move in reverse in the middle of an acid trip at a festival once. Pretty sure K + Nitrous was involved too.

Probably lasted for a few minutes only, but it was one of the most bizarre things I've ever experienced.

It's the opposite on Speed. I took an Adderall the other day at work just to see if it would help me focus.

Only 10MG, so an actual therapeutic dose with zero tolerance, and time FLEW BY. I would be like 'Man I'm way ahead of schedule' then look at the Clock and realize I'm actually behind schedule and needed to hurry :rofl:

Nitrous on K definitely gets really fucking weird.

Speedball or meth?  I never taken adderall for OCD i only use B-Complex at night... it helps make me less depressed and vulnerable when i sleep

Time dialations are a strange but fascinating experience. Ive had many on different psychedelics. It always surprizes me and puts me in a state of awe.

Some of the strongest time dialations happened om this substances:
First times smoking weed
First times doing Acid
First times with Alcohol
Ketamine
Extracted LSA
Shrooms and weed edibles taken at the same time
A crazy combo of LSD, Shrooms, Weed, Alcohol and Hookah Sesha Hits
High doses of weed edibles
LSD and weed edibles
Salvia
Mescajuana
Shrooms
DMT

I cant really say i learn something from experience. I definitely have some profound thoughts and deep introspection. Theres a mediative aspect to it. In fact, in deep mediation, u can lose track of time but instead of it feeling forever, it feels really brief, compressed time. Ive also done a past life regression hypnosis session, and theres that same time compression like with mediation. 1 hour feels like 10 mins. Its really strange but totally fasicating.

To me time doesn't exist, flow does. Current, change

So yeah drugs alter it for me also. But also anxiety, or context. For example waiting at the bank VS kissing my girl for example alter "time" -again not a real thing, just a perception based measurement- more than drugs, even.

But to your point yeah, tripping does that to me as well.

I think if you train you can learn to control this somewhat. Like distort "time" a bit whenever you want. Yoga is cool. And after some sober training you can pop in a mild dose of your brand (mine is always L) and you can really learn to control that shit like superpower level

it just doesnt feel like 8 years since i was in my trailer, that i miss but all in time be patient, keep ballin.. ive been in mental hospitals and the last time was because i was panicking from feeling invisible and they even let me out, i been alone, very alone

Ketamine and time have a very curious relationship indeed.  Any substance which enables a complete consciousness shift to an altered reality will have a similarly replaced acute concept ov time.  Also note that in these realms which are entered in states initiated through drugs, astral projection, etc., consciousness is no longer hindered by gravity.  When stripped ov the body, consciousness is no longer bound by the intrinsic parameters ov gravity/time/space.  "What's the frequency, Kenneth?"  Transcendence ov consciousness outside ov the body enables a shift to a reality orchestrated by chaos as opposed to ruled by order, and thus is spatial linearity displaced by point-event perception.

Oh yes, i certainly acquiesce in my experiences with alcohol withdrawal.  Very strange and very uncomfortable times.

I got stuck listening to the same song for hours. Fucking hours. It was actually only 3-4 mins. I kept opening my eyes and checking the time left on it. But...it was hours.

My first mushroom trip I could swear that I head "Are You Experienced?" like a million times. Not the album, the track. I had my CD of it on and that song went on forever while I watched this metallic tentacle monster at the center of time. Another time I took AL-LAD and DOM IIRC, and I listened to Pink Floyd's new album Endless River for the first time. I ended up hearing this tone or a few notes of an interlude in my head over and over and over and over. This wasn't so much time dilation as it was my brain refusing to stop looping this horrible sound into my head. Hours. The trauma.

Ayahuasca and Mescaline were pretty was backwards. Time stops.

Dmt, lsd, shrooms, mxe, dxm, ambien, xanax,kpins, weed, alcohol, and a bunch of stuff. I've exited the time line. Like it's stepping to the left of the  forward momentum into a completely different direction of forwardness.  I jumped timelines allot. It's a super useful thing when you're going to die soon.

Just step out of Time to a universe that has a different future, which usually means a different present. So mandala effects for all.

A few years back I had a very bizarre dream, can only remember the last bit of it vaguely but basically I was in space and ended up being sucked into a black hole's event horizon.

Even though it was a dream I still can hazily remember the gnarliest time dilation I've ever experienced, as I was stretched out into infinity towards the black hole. It actually felt very real, and the last thing I remember is yelling "FUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC" but never stopping as the black hole's gravity stretched me out. Woke up feeling like I'd somehow ended up in a parallel dimension :strokebeard:

Things actually started seeming out of place for a few weeks after. Like one day I noticed the yard a few houses over looked entirely different then what I remembered, probably was just stoned but it felt eerie. And not just like they'd had some yardwork done, it was entirely different. Had a massive tree I couldn't remember seeing once in years of walking my dog right past :lol:

Reminds me of this one dream i had. I was in a grassy field with another person (cant remember who). I found a patch of shrooms, and i proceeded to lay down next to them. Then i fell asleep, inside the dream. Felt like the most relaxing, peaceful sleep as i was aware i was sleeping inside the dream. Definitely had some pleasant time dialation.
