You design games! Whoah! What company do you work for??? Designing video games is one of my life's goals. I'm currently reading a big fat book on c++, but I'm not sure yet on which compiler is the best. I've got a good feeling about MS Visual C++, but I'm just not sure. Can you recommend one to me? Pretty please?

Well, I think I'll refrain from giving the name of the company I work for. However, it is highly unlikely you've played or heard anything by us. We're more into research, and to a degree, teaching.

As for which compiler to use, it depends on a few things: your machine, what you want to do, your platform, your experience, etc.

I use MS Visual C++ and g++, and I also do some code in asm (68k, and SPARC).

Cheers,
Hush.

Starting with a cable modem  (everyone needs one!)

Cable modem attatched to NT4 firewall/Inet host, which connects via 2nd ethernet card to 8 port hub, which connects to:

An NT4 file server with 2 external disk arrays
    A multi-headed win98 machine
    A Win2k machine
    A Mandrake Linux box
A Sun Ultra 10 workstation <- kicks winblows ass on everything, except software availability.
An HP jetdirect connected laser printer.
2 APC Smartups 700 w/ Ethernet SNMP cards.

Plus the Cybex Autoview Commander 8 port console switch, Flatbed scanner, Logitech Wingman force feedback steering wheel, and the MS sidewinder joystick.
