Monthly budget
    #25823234 -

How much of your monthly budget (income) goes toward housing?

I pay 54% towards housing.  That's a good bit more than what is recommended.

Medical wipes me out anymore (it was almost cheaper just self medicating with cannabis) and the rare trip.

Food is about 120 a month.  Unless things are bad then it's hurry up and stock up.

Dog, well I try to put away 250 a month anymore.  I worry about his elder years and don't want to lose him due to lack of funding.  Sadly, a lot of that goes towards medical for me and him.

I spend hardly anything on alcohol anymore.  Rarely tobacco mostly vaping (cheaper and "healthier").

How much do you spend on housing %  ?

About 10% to 20% for mortgage and then I put at least $1000 of material into it every month and the labor for the work is free because I do it all. My income changes every month.

Usually less than 25% goes toward rent, but I do plan on buying a house soon so it'll be more around 40% going toward a mortgage I suspect.

I work long hours at work so when I get off I don't feel like cooking so I eat out a lot which costs more. I really need to start grocery shopping and cooking for myself though. That will save me money and be healthier.

I don't drink too much anymore and I have never smoked or used tobacco.

This summer I should be getting a raise to almost $40 an hour so I will have more money to throw around which will help

My apartment is in a shadier part of town, but it's a smaller building with only 12 apartments. Rent is only $600 a month and included all utilities, cable tv, and internet. The only reason I haven't moved yet is because it's such a good deal. The only problem is shitty neighbors and thin walls :/

I spend ~30% which includes my mortgage, taxes and insurance. I have solar so my electricity is pretty low, maybe 50 bucks a month.

It's alright. I'm not rich but I'm not struggling either.

$0 towards housing. I live in employer paid accommodation. I don't contribute at all to this thread in a meaningful way. I try to give housekeeping a fiver a couple times a week.

Omg why don’t people know the proper usage of the word “anymore” anymore?

This one is correct:
Quote:
I spend hardly anything on alcohol anymore

This has been bothering me since I noticed Burke using the word in this way over a year ago. Apparently it is noteworthy enough that academics are studying it.

https://ygdp.yale.edu/phenomena/positive-anymore

Quote:
Positive anymore is the usage of the word anymore in a non-negative context with a meaning similar to nowadays, as in the following examples:

  • Pantyhose are so expensive anymore that ...
  • Even in the small towns anymore, it's getting like that.

This usage of anymore is different from the standard English anymore, which is a negative polarity item (NPI) (meaning that it must occur in a negative or negative-like environment, such as after a negative word like not or nobody, or in a question like Do you ever go there anymore?).

I don't pay attention to spending in my budget. I just try to keep 2 or 3 days a week where I spend nothing.

I owe $1340 to a shitty mental ward.  That sent me home in uber.

Indon't feel like paying that.  They also should be shut down, for how they treat elders.  They also run a 'nursing' home.

I don't own anything really.  I feel like I own my dog cause he's my main money priority.  Being on rsdi nobody can take that.  Not owning the house, nobody can take that either.

But if my sisters own my house with me they will have a majority share.  So that probably means no grow.  Even though I'm a bastard at hiding grows.

The DEA never could catch me.  I didn't do much and don't sell.  Hard to not smell like it though.  I smell it sround fruits and other things remind me of it.  Like green tea (chlorophil).  The grapefruit rind reminds me of a g13hp in veg.

Linguistically it will become correct over time if people keep doing it.

I pay about 33% income to rent
15% to heat in winter

Language evolves. Things like that end up becoming grammatically correct over time. Language isn't static and unchanging

Currently, only about 25% but its been as high as 50%.

This is a case where your absolute income amount (versus percentage) becomes very important.

This is something I really need to sit down and put some serious effort into, as well as maintaining said budget.

Thanks for making this thread, I may post again later, but probably not.

I've lived in some shady areas and this one is getting more so.  But I'm happy I do have so much house for what I do pay.  It's a lot more work than an apartment.

Keeps me out of other peoples woods too.  Keeps me from growing dope or trying to.  Even though it was nice to get away and guerilla camp.  Don't know if they ever found my old ones.  Off the beat'n path.
