Dog Dung
    #2554342 - 04/13/04 12:14 PM (19 years, 11 months ago)

hello all, ive been reading the fourms for a long time now and tryed the pftek with verm and unsterilized organic brown rice and didnt work well, so i was goin to try paturizing of cow dung ,that was untill i relized that i could not find any , then i realized if cow dung would work why not dog dung? wouldnt it be the same if not less nutriets in dog dung than cow dung ? if i pasturized the dung for 2 hours at 170f and mixed with coir and sum perlite and fill 2 bags full would it inncobate the spores?

yes i looked at all stores , wal mart, k mart and garden stores for a mix of cow dung and compost, couldnt find any , no cow fields around my parts neather...

Dog dung contains fat. Fat goes rancid.

There's also a lot of other shit in there that doesn't make good substrate, google it.

With the stores you named you should have a homedeot around you look for Fertil Deheydrated cow manure they sell works very well. Also if you have a Agaway get Hortibek Dehydrated Cow manure it is by far the best besides sun dried patties out in the field

Don't forget horse crap. Most areas have stables somewhere close even big citys. There is a lot of horse racing outthere.

I could make a business selling cowshit to city people
I'm in Ireland and I got cows all over the place!  The ones that eat grass too (I've heard some dodgy shit about American beef  and how cows are "grown").
If anyone is really really stuck for some cow shit and is willing to pay postage costs from Ireland, gimme a shout!

Of course this didnt work...Unsteralized flour?Did you steralize the substrate or not?Nothing good is gonna grow regardless of the substrate if you dont steralize it first.

The cows in my area are all grown off of the grass of the land.

Yeah...  Japanese beef is yummy (fat grained all the way through it)

Bloody expensive, though... I'm surprised it's marketed as 'Kobe Beef'...  I'm about an hour from Kobe and don't know of any cattle in the area.  Most of the cattle are farmed on the big northern island (Hokkaido).

There are some native cubies in Japan, so do tell me if you know any more about this

Cow poo doesn't have as good a consistency as h/poo for growing mushies. You need to chop up cow poo well and add straw in with it for it to be as suitable as h/poo.
