Its supposed to be fun, but fun isn't supposed to be at anothers expense.

Can you imagine its offensive for some non-Natives to be genocided and met with the same pest extermination attitude by the government as seen in Standing Rock, and then white people adopting travesties of their attires "for a laugh"?

"They should lighten up." Say who, and what reason have they for lightening up? "its 100 years ago and everybody still shits down your neck and now they elected Bigot Supreme referring to women as "pocahontas"?

White people told black people to shut the fuck up about lynchings right when they were happening too, and poorsed civil rights as they were being fought for.

Maybe those Natives who so fearlessly walk the high beams of those skyscrapers should walk the streets as knife wielding masked Michael Myers tonight?

I find it more inappropriate and offensivethat a white women used a Native American status to further her career and standing in such a bold manner. I don’t find it particularly offensive that some idiot called her out on it and referenced Pocahontas...

Conflicting opinions, no problem right?

We are in opposite echo chambers.

Halloween in origin is a festivity that has to do with dead ancestors and what they did, what they stood for - and then hubris by the conquerors of the conquered?
I can see the friction.

I'll bge connecting with my deceased ancestors tonight and honor them, in all the right they did and all the wroing they did. Wrongs I correct in my time here.

Not at all, I'm just having fun poking fun at minorities. I'm in Europe and white Americans are a minority here.


Protesting political correctness only seems to work if its in favor of whites


There's no problem between you and me of course, just opposing points of view.


In my country we have a similar problem with the blackface character of Black Pete in the St Nicolas celebration.

The time of giving nonwhites gratuitous nutshots at celebrations is over.


We cant go on not gibving a fuck about the feelings of others like we used to because back in the day what we did was very far from Great, or honorable.

Have fun in all appropriate manners and carry on having that fun to the full extent in the knowledge that it is of a better quality than in the days past.

True fun is fun that you can share together as a people, without treading upon the enjoyment of others.

Theres a difference between July 4th fireworks and impersonating an ethnicity as a costume.

When I was about 10 years old I wore an indian costume to a carnival festivity and my then best friend, a Hindu from The Surinam from the same class, politely informed me
that what I did was racist and why it was so.

At some point someone has to tell you.


The Surinam is an ethnically very diverse south american country where people learned to coexist together while retaining cultural identities and sharing a mutual one.

This wasnt about not being judged fore your kid dressing up as a Native American or whatev, it was about keeping minorities in check under the guise of "its just a party people should stahp making it about something its not." It is, its just hidden to sound reasonable but its really about misgivings against minority groups and that they should shut up and let you go right ahead.
