Just wanted to point out that traditionally the Kambo frogs are not poked with a stick like this. Yes, tying it up like this is the traditional way the indigenous do it, but normally they just slowly, gently rub the sides of it's belly and legs with the sides of a stick to get it to excrete the poison. And normally only a very small amount is harvest from each frog then they are released. For the sake of the frog, as well as to obtain only the strongest, most potent medicine.

And as far as people just doing this to get "high" Kambo has been shown to have the potential to cure so many ailments, from cancer to serious heart issues, and so much more. You don't even get high off it in the sense of it being a trip or a psychedelic. The only high you get is it boosting your immune system for many months to a year and making you feel stronger than you've ever felt in your life. There's a reason the indigenous use this medicine for hunting and when they are sick, as well as for divinatory foresight.

I 100% agree that there are too many westerners going to Kambo with no real need for it; people are not aware of the demand and shitty, over-harvesting they are attracting and creating, and that, if people do need this for serious health concerns, they need to be very aware of where the kambo is being sourced and how it is being harvested.

If people are going to this to try to get high they are not only going for the wrong substance, but they are indeed being an ignorant part of supporting the unhealthy manipulation and use of this animal that has been revered and held so sacred by these indigenous tribes.

This practice should only be sought out if you have something serious like cancer or hiv etc. while i'm not sure on what exactly it has an effect on, i've read the active compounds are opioid peptides, and work by resetting the immune system. I've listened to people who have gone through with the treatment refer to it as a vaccination. They said it healed cancer and more.

It says the actives they extract from the frogs are more potent than morphine.

Who was the jackass a few posts up claiming you dont get "high" from it? "At least, not in a psychedelic sense."?

Not too sure what you think i'm assuming or why you're so upset by my post. I'm just standing up for the medicine that this Frog can be, the relationship the indigenous have had with this frog, and am AGREEING with all of you that the way they are being over-harvested is disgusting.

I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma this past november and just got back from a trip to the jungle in Peru to seek out natural healing methods with jungle plants and diets. I heard of Kambo shortly before my trip south, had a few applications in the states, as well as some applications down in Peru, and am continuing treatment with Kambo because of the amazing health benefits i have felt and continue to feel from this medicine.

I dunno about it really doing the same thing as morphine. While all of them are opioids, the compounds in the frog are polypeptides.

Anyways I do agree overall. Kambo doesn't seem enjoyable anyways though, it's mainly a medicinal thing.
