Didn't get paid for a job, involving kratom, will i open a can of worms?

I answered a ad on the san diego craigslist about a manufacturing job, as a 1099. I worked there for two days putting stickers on bags and putting pills in bags. It was kratom. I think kratom is illegal in sd county, i think it was sketch. Anyways, after two days I said I couldnt make it to work, and then just stop going there. Two weeks later I called about my check, and they said it will come. 3 weeks later and it still hasn't come. They only have my resume and I never filed out any paper work. Should I go over there? Maybe they aren't even there anymore? Was what I was doing illegal and it would be sketch and opening a can of worms if I go back there? I also don't want to be labeled as a 1099 and told them that, maybe that's why they haven't paid me? Maybe it's because they are sketch? I think the add is still up and I know the company name, they have a website and everything. I think they're a well known company for their cbd. What should I do?

I quit because I realized it was illegal and the krampton was giving me a weird contact high that I didn't like. And I recognized that they had something to hide and it was sketch. Something inside me told me not to come back.
Just seeing if anyone else has something to say about this.
They are a very well known company, they are in all the weed magazines and websites, so I think it's kinda strange.

If Kratom is illegal there then definately go to the police. Tell them you helped manufacture drugs and now they won't pay you. Tell them how you put the drugs in bags with bright colorful stickers to tempt children into using the drugs. See how that all works out for you
But seriously it's 2 days worth of pay. Just let it go. Is it really worth your time and effort?

Should I ask for more than my pay originally was since the pay is legally late? Would I get in trouble for going back there? Any help?

Legally late? When I work I don't get paid the day after I work. Generally it's a week after the work is done on Friday. Don't expect a company that is breaking the law to have the decency to pay you especially when you walk out after your second day. Know that if you sue them. Which is the only way you can get them to pay you if they refuse. You will also have to pay a court filing fee. Which varies from state to state. In my state it is above $200.

I don't think I can prove it unless we were filmed or something, no can't. I have a picture of the craigslist ad though an email for the interview, but that's is.
If I go there and confront them and they say no, then what? Keep in mind I'm not the type that breaks the law and gets rolled. I'd rather stay outta jail.
I literally would not know how to sue them, I've never done that before, I would need step by step easy instructions. Then what? I was thinking about contacting the company. It is herbalogix.
Or ruining their reputation.

I was mislabeled as a 1099. I don't want hte irs to send me a 1099 it might screw up my taxes, I haven't filed in years and don't wan that spoiled, as I may file this year, this is all turning into a headache. Again, I want this solved, I'm not going to break the law.

Go in there and talk to them, I don't know why you waited this long. If they say go to hell there is really not much you can do. Just filing a civil case against them is going to cost you more than the 2 days of wages not to mention your time.
And get a job you bum. You haven't paid taxes in years? What do you do live at your moms?

I do have a job that's why I haven't had the time to go there. I usually don't make enough to have to file taxes but last year I did. WHat about you, you fuking drugo, go do some more strange designer drugs and strange chemicals and more family breaking drugs instead of drinking tea or excersiing, it shows in how you read peoples posts and it shows youre desire to help others and do the world better, rather than being a wierd drugo. You probably throw cats at people and yell at peoples dogs as they walk by n stuff.

Exactly! 2 days of minimum wage pay isn't anything. This is the risk you take when you work under the table. Your pay is as good as your evidence, and you had none.

  All depends on the contract or the lack off.

Did not mean to come off harsh but for 2 days of a low wage /  Chasing after the money is more work than anything.
