Around here there are cool people, biking trails, hiking trails, a nice park around the corner and medicine grows right out of the ground.

We also have the worlds longest burning light bulb.

Micro climates are pretty cool too. If it's triple digits in the summer you can usually drive less than an hour and it's in the 60's or 70's.

It's ~74f year round, dropping into the 50s (brrr) on cold nights
We pretty much live in the best spot we could for the relatively cheap rent we pay.
Live 1 1/2 blocks off the main highway 
1 mile from amazing beach.
~1 hour north to one of the most amazing mountain ranges. Giant redwoods :smile:
1 1/2 hours east to desert
We got bitching roads and canyons to cruise. Lots of parks and trails and places to explore.
Live in a 'cool' artsy neighborhood. Mostly 20s, 30s and 40s people.
Foodie town. Within 6-7 blocks from our house is probably 50 different good places to eat.
Within 2-3 miles is several hundred. Expand to 20-40 miles and many thousands. Foodie paradise really. The options are endless and constantly changing.
8 or 10 grocery stores to choose from within a mile.. Trader Joes, Sprouts, Mothers, Whole Foods, Vons, Ralphs, Fresh and Easy, Stater Brothers.. and several 'craft' or butcher stores within walking distance.
We have the most bitching county fair in our city. People come from out of state
Something not cool.. too many people

Arab-ran hashish bar on walking distance, Surinamese restaurant nearby to pick up a Roti, Chinese store that has anything tasty, who can ask for anything more.

Oh we lead the world in number of fire ant hills, deer ticks and id dear say top 10 in mosquitoes! Oh but we do have carowinds and a zoo.
