How are you proactive? What foundational beliefs do you have, and why do you have them? What moral imperatives should we have as a society?

"The issue is reactionary"

The EU migrant crisis is reactionary, how so?

"The entirety of your discourse here is reactionary"

Reporting things you don't want to hear isn't reactionary.

"How are you proactive?"

About what exactly?

"What foundational beliefs do you have?"

About what exactly?

I'm not on trial here, if you have a specific question please ask it.

some of what you've written is very similar to arguments made about black people in america when discussions were had about ending slavery and integrating blacks into american society...that struck me when reading posts ITT.

it's not a surprise to anyone that change is often difficult, not well received, and thought to be a failure by some when first enacted.  i think we all know and admit that, yeah?

i'm of the opinion that all of this will get easier and better as time goes on but you don't seem to be of that opinion, right?  you don't believe that the integration of muslim society into european society will get easier and better, do you?

I'm on my phone so won't go into major detail now (to exhausting on a tiny screen) but yes, in general, when it comes to Islam I am of that opinion.

Look at what happens when Muslims gain majority control in demographic  terms. Look at Pakistan and Turkey as two examples. Civil liberties curtailed in the name of Islam. Hard line Islamist doctrine seeping in to government policy. Not all Muslims are out right jihadists. To suggest other wise would be ridiculous, but the majority are voting for the few examples (of many) in the country's mentioned above. Watching the progression of Islam in these country's and how the religion  ultimately and inevitably begins to affects government policy and politics in general, is a clear indicator as to what will eventually happen in the West with continued, mass Muslim immigration.

Native born Britain's are all ready set to become a minority here by 2050 because of this uncontrolled (predominately  Muslim) immigration.

Muslims must not be allowed to continue too colonize the West.

This reactionary bullshit only furthers the divide amongst the working class, the vast majority of people on this earth, and it aids those with their boots on our throats.

So why keep doing it?

And before you answer "because I care about the Western worker," understand that thats a morally bankrupt position, one that writes off 85% of the world's population on the basis of them being born too far from where you were.

as a counterpoint, i would say take a look at Afghanistan in the 1970's.  they were as forward as any back then, but when the cold war touched them it set off a downward cascade that has spiraled Afghanistan back into the pre-1930's era.

i'm not smart enough to know how to reverse the last 40 years of western meddling into the business of ME nations or how to better integrate muslims into western society.  hopefully there are people who are so and they get on it.

how is your (sister's?) friend.  sorry, i forget how you know the young lady that was sexually assaulted.  is she doing any better?  i know she probably has many years of trying to cope with what happened to her.  hopefully she gets the professional help she needs to clean up the mental scars.

Please, this thread's been off topic for 500 pages.

The point is this: why does anyone keep up with politics? I will assume its because you want to be informed about the problems around you, and have the knowledge to push for solutions.

But time and time again, all I see on this sub is people trying to treat symptoms.

WHY is the far right rising?
WHY are millions of people fleeing their homes?
WHY do these problems exist?

Its a little deeper than "well theyre lazy," or "cultural marxism."

I just want some fucking critical thought for once. It seems to me we've all acknowledged, to varying degrees, that the super rich cabal of corporate interests are controlling almost every major aspect of global society. And yet half of you still sit here and post links about petty thefts by immigrants, as if thats even close to the most pressing issue.

Enough of the culture war shit.
Enough demomizing Muslims.
Enough fearmongering in general.
Enough red vs blue "my side is marginally more polite as it rapes the 99%" shit.

The rich are killing us. What do we do about them?

"So why keep doing it?"

I'm going to continue to point out the fact that the US/EU refuse to enforce their immigration laws until the voters decide there's not need to have those laws already on the books. Who do you think allows the laws not to be enforced?  The people at the top.

You can dismiss the affects of illegal and legal immigration all you want, but it does affect the "Western worker" in a negative way.

"them being born too far from where you were"

The world is a harsh place, that doesn't mean the people in the US/EU should have their homelands destroyed to bring the poorest people in the world, that doesn't make any sense.

Since when did it become impossible to oppose mass migration of third world people into the EU/US and to also oppose the economic policies of the top 1/1000th of 1%?

I want immigration laws enforced, if pointing out the problems with the non-enforcement of these laws is needed, I'm going to do it.
That's not "scapegoting other victims", it's telling the truth.

Who's responsible for enforcing those law?  The top, did you forget how critical I have been of Merkel and the gang?

She's an ex-girlfriend who I'm still very good friends with. She's doing okay. She reported it to the police and the guy responsible has since been arrested. Whether or not any convictions will come I can't say. I dare say it won't be the end of things if not after talking to her dad, but that's another conversation entirely and one I won't go into here.

I thought poverty was measured globally in absolute terms? Meaning some one living below the poverty line in the US, is no better off than some one living below the poverty line in India for example.

"WHY is the far-right rising?"

Because the asshole elite in the US/EU have betrayed the working classes on a variety of issues, immigration included!!

"WHY are millions of people fleeing their homes?"

Because they're smart enough to know there's a higher standard of living available in the US or EU if they can just get in. That's great for them, but shitty for the native citizens.

"WHY do these problems exist?"

Because there's finite resources and unlimited human greed.

"corporate interests are controlling almost every aspect of global society"

Even if true, that doesn't eliminate the fact that there's a huge cultural divide in Western culture today.

"The rich are killing us"

There's always going to be an oppressive elite, it's been happening since the beginning of time. Does that mean we can't improve the status quo?  Not at all.

"What do we do about them?"

I think the better question is, what are they going to do about the billions of unproductive humans that they no longer need for any good reason?  You know they one's that keep on bitching about how unfair everything is in the world as they keep using resources without contributing to the hive.

If you think the elite are going to use the great technology gains of automation/robots to support of bunch of people that offer no value and continually threaten their lives, you're sadly mistaken.  That's where the wars/genocides come into play.
