Internet radicalisation * 9
    #24780495 -

There have been a few posters I've known over the years here who have been radicalised over the internet, its obviously very concerning.

I remember Bodhi being somewhat alright at some point long ago and gradually he became pretty much a Nazi.

Now with what has happened to Akira, I just think.. what the fuck..?. He used to defend against Islamophobia, seemed to generally be open minded, and now he is frothing at the mouth with hatred against the so called "anti-white agenda" and is calling for a genocide of leftists, socialists, antifascists, whatever.

I've also known people in real life who have been radicalised, though they have tended to also have issues with mental illness. The NHS now is being starved of funding by the conservative government so mental health support is virtually nonexistent. I know people now either pumped with reality distorting drugs or just left to explore their delusions.

Does anyone else have similar experiences?

Personally, I find that the state of global politics is enough to make anyone a bit radical. I've certainly moved further to the left. The relationship between political events, a lack of mental health support and the rabbit holes you can find on the internet can be pretty toxic.. it also puts terror attacks in some context.

I briefly read a headline somewhere that suggested that it was the state of hyper capitalism that has helped produce alienated and angry people who are prone to radicalisation and then violence.

Any thoughts on this?

the so called "anti-white agenda"

you refuse to acknowledge the truth yet again, even though it has been put to you time and time again, you are the one who is radicalised, because you believe that "whiteness" is inherently privileged, which is a farce, and has been proven to be so- not to mention the farce that is "BLM" and many another "anti-white" group.

Islam is another story. i hate all religions for their philosophically blinding people- but i don't hate individuals (lest they've wronged me)- and Muslims, that are moderates, are perfectly fine people- and i've NEVER had changed my views otherwise.

the only views i have changed at all, mind you, is the view that "the right are bad and the left is inherently right".

wrong.

the right wing had a point all along, the far-right elements are still stupid, and impotent, like all racists are, and nazis are still wrong, as proven by me, to Bodhi, when i showed that the ethnostate always leads to war. you can agree but you refuse to see the truth, because i am now your enemy, and thusly you refuse to see what i have told him as something that could be agreed upon by you.

someone tell this norm to un-nig me, and stop being a pussy and address my argumentation.

(or not, it might be useless to anyway)

The younger generations have become so disenfranchised theyre reaching out for anything to grab hold to. The neoliberal concensus has failed us all to varying degrees, that we all know.

But why?

Ask a recently radicalized leftist, theyll tell you our oligarchic capitalist system shut out the 99%.

Ask a recently radicalized right winger, theyll tell you thr globalists are using minorities to destroy Western civilization.

In my mind, only one of them sounds reasonable. But not everyone is as smart as I am.

as have the socialists, time and time again;and now you play part and parcel to the neoliberal agenda, because you feel so disenfranchised yourself.

that is how ironic your statements actually are, but you'll never realize until all is said and done- and you'll probably still cling to socialism, cause you're a convert. you're as "intellectually hefty" as Cenk or something.

you're a fool. both are correct. you are just blind.

I'm a believer in empirical (real world) evidence.  Let's compare the US to the EU.

Here we can see that incomes have been growing faster in countries with more socialism than they have in the US:

However, I believe incomes for the top 1% have been growing faster in the US.

So I guess the better system depends on which is more important to you.

I still don't get the right wing focus on "they're taking our jobs!"

No-one has taken my job. Such is the nature of skilled, educated work. I'm hard to replace. Very few people have my specific skillset, and most of them have work.

Anybody whining about losing jobs to outsourcing, or minorities, or what have you: Shut up, and become irreplaceable. Until you do, I won't take your burger-flipping ass seriously. I did that shit as a teenager, and went to college in a valuable field specifically because I didn't wanna do that. If you can't figure out a way to make yourself valuable at market price, well, don't be surprised when your market value drops below the poverty level. Plenty of people worldwide survive on a dollar a day just fine. That's called being replaceable. If I can get someone to do your dollar a day job for 95 cents, your ass is on the curb.

Call me a libtard leftist elite. Do it. I am elite. That's why I have a job, and that's why I have job security. Deal with it. The best people will follow in my footsteps, and elite it up themselves. I wasn't born into the top 15%. I'm there now. I'm still trying to go up a few tax brackets in my lifetime, and I'm willing to pay for your college so you can too.

If there's one thing I've learned in all my years of observation of other people, it's that there is no inherent intelligence. Sure, there's something to say for talent, but the actually hard stuff takes nothing but time. If you put in the time, you can do whatever you want, even if you don't have talent. If you won't put in the time, well, this here immigrant will do your job twice as well at half the pay. There's the curb.

but besides that, i don't think it's just about "take our jerbs", but more about the destruction of rural states due to lack of funding, and due to urban cities, in blue states, mainly, consolidating so much of the commercial business in the US- especially in the tech world.

I gotta say it's fascinating as fuck to watch. We're talking about actual radicalization, not just an evolution of political philosophy. It's like a total reprogramming of someone's core values.

The best example I can think of is Bodhi once being so angry about the treatment of natives that he wanted to kill white people, and in a few short months was literally spewing white nationalist talking points and praising Trump for approving the Dakota access pipeline.

Truly fascinating.

Yeah, because it's not worth doing anything in some rural shithole. The customers are in the cities, the production is in the cities, the culture is in the cities, all that's left in the country are some bombed-out-looking houses and a bunch of hicks that think a two story 5 bedroom is a mansion.

Rural life is nice for when you're doing some unskilled, backbreaking labor. Like farming, or shoveling poo. If that's what you want, cool! people do that for a dollar a day. If that's not what you want, then get your shit together, and move to the cities. that's where life happens. Capitalism says: rural folk are poor idiots. Even with all the farm subsidies.

Computers don't do so well when they're half drowned in mud and shit in some leaky barn. That's why the tech industry doesn't go out in the country. This is called progress. Capitalism says, computers are worth more to us. So, get with the program, or starve. Or ask for more of the socialist subsidies that keep your rural life barely afloat on subsistence wages as it.

Those that did that have been radicalized. The alt right is a truly potent radicalizer these days. So is ISIS. The same process is happening with all these ideologies - breeding resentment, then weaponizing it.

I would argue that many of my latest posts have been radicalizing as well, specifically in Political. Last two posts are an example. I've been focusing less on trying to understand the right wing mindset, and spending more time bashing it for the more (in my opinion) idiotic moments in the logic. Similar things have been going on with more right wing posters, and I've noticed something similar going on across the internet. Everyone retreats to their camp, and treats everyone else as a potential threat that must be eradicated with overwhelming force.

I've always though of the president as the face of the country. Our president likes to threaten overwhelming force at any provocation, doesn't he?

it's only that way because it's been made that way by enforcing the socialist cause of consolidation over representation.

rural is being choked out of existence, because all businesses have to leave to cities, in order to be competitive. this is due to price controls, and due to rampant regulations over businesses, who either have to, as i've said, go to the cities, or leave the nation altogether- leaving only the cities in riches.

Trump trolls both the left and the right, but it's only the left that ends up throwing fits over it.

It's the same thing with the internet and social media, humans are tribal by nature and gravitate towards certain groups for safety and comfort.

Consolidation over representation? HAHAHA, look at the electoral college results! Trump won on *RURAL* counties, while *LOSING* the popular vote. Rural communities are over-represented, if anything. Or, yeah, let's talk about price controls. A pound of unsubsidized beef in the US costs nearly $50, until all that socialist money goes to the poor, rural farmers who couldn't sell a chunk of cow otherwise if they offered a free blowjob with every purchase.

Shit man, let's go back to the halcyon days of 1950s deregulation. Then let's watch everyone with two brain cells to rub together get the fuck outta the country and into the cities, just like they did 60 years ago. The free market has spoken. Your country life is worthless. Or, well, worth sub-poverty wages.

Wanna go back some more, to complete deregulation, ala 1750s? Yeah, hope you're one of the plantation owners or live in a city, because otherwise you're a literal slave.

facetiousness.

the votes were not "tipped" in favor of Trump, and he was not "overrepresented", it was just the favor of the rural states that won out, due to lack of voter turn out for Clinton, and due to the rural states being the clinger, that Hillary never took advantage of to campaign in-and-around, and those rural states were literally hurting for Trump, so their turnout was huge.

typically foolish. what you are referring to is "usage", and usage, yes, does change...it can changed due to cultural shift of the usage, or due to propaganda. if it's the latter, it's disingenuous- not that you'd care if it was, you're a...well...just look at you. snickering away.
