Fake unfortunately.  That was created in 2008 by Nokia and used a Bruce Lee look-alike.

Table tennis is great for martial arts, are you listening sunshine? It tunes up your reflexes like nothing else. It makes you react instantly without having to think about it first. Do you see how fast they are playing?

Also notice bruce's 1" punch. He does not have to pull back to make a punch, this shows me he has mastered chi to some degree at least.

Many can claim it but how many can do a 1" punch? Table tennis is excellent exercise even if you are not into the arts but if you are, its essential. You learn to read body movements and anticipate what they are about to do and where the ball will come. In martial arts, you anticipate their punch or kick, and intercept it or beat them to the punch because its become like a reflex that happens before you even think about it. No joke.

Yeah there is a silliness surrounding table tennis that is hard to deny I think, no matter how impressive the performances of the players. Certain aspects of the sport of tennis have been miniaturized but the players remain normal size. There is a miniature ball that has very little weight to it, paddles that are miniature approximations of a tennis racket, and a table that is set up like a diorama for grade school of a real tennis court. Not to say that the athleticism and reflexes of high level players aren't very impressive, but IMO the size disparity between players and equipment just has inherent physical comedy value. Even the name ping-pong is funny.

Awww, what man? Can anyone confirm this? I was always hopeful this table tennis/nunchuk stunt was a legit bruce lee feat.

You could mock any sport :shrug: I used to think the squatting pre-snap in football was weird until I learned it was for explosive potential. Even with that justified, the field goal is often a sign on the dotted line scenario which makes it a bit absurd to me especially for how large it is.

I think table tennis is pretty intense. There is very low tolerance for error at the high levels, they basically play off the corner of the table.

At intermediate or novice play it's a ton of fun but fetching the ball is a bitch.

Hey all of sunshines talk of Bruce Lee has really made me miss this Bruce Lee shirt I used to own. But I can't seem to find it anywhere online! The weird part is I can't even find a picture of it on google images. Someone help me find this long lost bruce lee shirt!
It's a picture of bruce in black and white, and the pool cue he's holding is like in a blur in front of him and he's making a very bruce lee face.

Table tennis (correct name) is indeed a very intense sport. One must be in great shape to play well and hand eye coordination is a must along with lightning reflexes and a good sense of where the ball is going along with how much and what kind of spin it has. You must do all that in a fraction of a second, it needs to become second nature to become good.

This is why I told sunshine it was great for martial arts but he of course played the fool. Sun, you make us wonder if anything you say is true.

Sure, but I'm just saying that sports involving mini versions of things are inherently a bit funnier than ones that don't. Take mini golf for another example.
