Any ping-pong players in here?

Its really one of the funnest hobbies ive ever had.  Cheap if you can find a person with a table, and infinitely hard to perfect so it allows you to play for days.

BTW, not to sound cocky, but if you say you play ping pong but dont use backspin then you DONT PLAY PING PONG.  You play PING SMASH. AND I WILL OWN YOU!!!

haha, im not good but multiple people come up to me saying their gonna whoop me in ping-pong until i send them my first backspin serve and they throw it into the net.

Anyone else into ping pong?  Whats your skill level? 

If you dont play, you should start.

Its decent cardio if you play hard too.

I have a ping pong table in my garage. I try to play everyday!

HELLS YESSS lol , I have a table in my garage right now too (a friends) and we have just been burning up the table lately.  Do you practice all types of spin?  What hold do you use?  Whats ur favorite type of serve?

I'm acceptable - by no means great.  I've tried both white man and asian man hold (you know what I'm talking about :lol:), and I prefer the white man hold.  I can smash way harder that way.  I also use all types of spin, but it's been a while and I'm not as consistent as I used to be.

I use a shake hands style grip. Pretty normal.

The paddles I like are hard rubber with courser textured rubber on them. You can feel the hit better and put amazing spins on the ball. We use just about ever technique we can think of. Sometimes were close tot he table and sometimes were far away putting drop spins on the ball to land it back and forth. We switch it up a lot. We get some badass trickshots in. I love it when we both get incredible saves and volley it a dozen or more times before we score. We make each other work for wins.

Were pretty good. We beat anyone that comes to the table. I think were pretty equal in skill.

Yea, i use the same hold.  I love just vollying for hours, me and my friend will seriously volley for four hours at a time.  This allows us to smah and try wicked shots without worrying about score.  I think it definently helps my game to do this.

The pen-hold is definently a finesse hold, i have never learned it personally.

defintately hear you on the spin comment.

I've had one growing up, and when my brother and I are home we still play. I'm very much out of practice. It used to be my brother and me were equals and we would often times wind up playing games well past 21. However, went he went to college he bought himself a 100 dollar paddle and played nearly everyday. While he has stopped playing for awhile he has been better than me the last few years. Doesn't mean I dont love to play....its quite fun. Now that I have some extra space maybe I should invest in one.

My roommate last year had a table and we'd play almost everyday for a couple hours a day. Got really good over the course of a year.

A close friend of mine has a ping pong table and everytime I go over there we play for a while. I really love the game. It's great mental practice.

I shoot almost exclusively backhand, but I think I'm pretty good in comparison to the average person.
I can add spins, but I usually just hold it down and let the other person screw up if I'm trying to win.
