the 5 planets

there up there for awhile :laugh:

Mercury
Venus
Mars
Jupiter
and Saturn!

I have been watching mars and venus for quite some time,
and I either saw saturn or jupiter last night,
but I cant seem to find the rest
i wanna see um before there gone
somethin like aint happenin again in 30 years or whatnot..

I was listening to a thing on the radio about this and it's not a common occurance in the positioning of the stars relative to our moon. Not sure when it started, but during the 12 days you will be able to see each of those planets and they will all be within a close distance to our moon; from our point of view. Haven't been able to see any yet, cloudy nights.

I'm an amatuer astronomer. I try to keep track of the locations of the planets regularly. It is a rare thing to be able to see all 5 planets (the other 3 are not readily visible with the naked eye) in the sky at the same time.

do you have a telescope? watching the stars use to be a great hobby of mine!

I've seen some great things in my little 4 inch reflector.

was a long time ago, but it's got a equatorial (is that the right word), stand, maybe it was 250 back then....maybe less?

I have a 4 inch as well
I "fixed" it but it still takes like 40 minutes for me to find something and get the focus right..
its cloudy here tonight but I am sure it will clear up again soon.. Its SPRING!!
