Anyone catch last night’s show?  It aired in all time zones already, but I’ll put the ending in spoilers for anyone who tivo’ed it.

I’ve been watching Jeopardy! for nearly 30 years, and cannot remember seeing someone win with only a dollar.  Plenty of times I’ve seen folks win by a dollar, but never a situation where two contestants have 0$ and one person bet it all but a dollar.  This is exactly why I always think that if you’re on the show, and going for a big wager at the end, you should bet it all except for 2$.  Everyone bets it all or bets it all -1$.  Any of those people who lost last night could’ve won if they’d have bet down to two bucks only, but it was kinda special circumstances because they were both at 12,300$ going into final jeopardy.  So if one of them only bet 12,298$ & the other bet it all, and they both got it right, the person who went all in would’ve won.  Good game though, it all came down to the wager.

Like all the contestants, I got Final Jeopardy wrong, which was disappointing because I usually fair well with geography questions.  Like Manny, I guessed Iraq- in retrospect, it was obviously Iran.  I forget what Carlos guessed, but Fran said Tibet, lol.  I’m looking forward to tonight’s show, even though I don’t think Manny is a great champ.  He’ll be good for a couple games and go out soon.

The video categories are the fucking worst. They are the longest yet somehow always the easiest questions.

Also they should get rid of the getting to know the contestants part. No one likes that shit. The contestants dont like it, Alex Trebek doesnt like it, and the audience doesnt like it.  Yet everytime i watch jeopardy i gotta hear about how some fat ladies cat really likes mac and cheese. I dont give a fuck about your mac and cheese cat.

that one tranny woman fran lives a town over from me i guess. she almost won but that guy came big on the daily double and then she gave like the dumbest answer ever in final jep:facepalm:

That was the first time I’d ever seen a trans woman on jeopardy before.  She did pretty well, but botched final jeopardy so terribly. 

I liked when after Carlos got it wrong, trebek was like: “You put Azerbaijan, and you were right!... to raise your hands that way because that's incorrect. It'll cost you everything, you drop to zero.”  Savage.

Dylan: I agree about the meeting the contestants part, I wouldn’t miss it at all.  I think they try to connect the audience to the guests a bit like that, but I never care.  No one does.

I've spent too many years of my life not being a contestant on Jeopardy.  Final jeopardy and daily double wagering are key.
I'm gonna legit try to get on that show.  Signed up for the online test last night.

No, I hadn’t seen that, it’s pretty cool.

I’d never be able to be a contestant on Jeopardy.  I do pretty well in my living room, but being in front of a crowd, knowing it would air nationwide, I’d fold.  I do not do well in public speaking situations.  But you definitely should do it!

In my early twenties, Jeopardy made me feel like a compete idiot.

Now I'm in my early 30s and I'm starting to answer more questions than I thought I could.

I guess I'm not a lost cause yet...
