Did anybody go to bonnaroo this year '17

This was my first roo and myself as well as my friends had the best time. I met a ton of awesome people there and found lots of great drugs. I rolled Molly first the first time and candy flipped too and it was just great.

I know a lot of people here hate on roo cause its expensive and hot af but most people were telling me the weather was much better this year than usual. Share any of your roo stories or tips for next year this will definitely be an every year festival for me now

Yeah from what I heard, the cops went above and beyond to arrest people this year. Just going up to random campsites and searching vehicles. Sounded terrible

I just don't wanna be at festivals where things like that happen. Bad vibes

Bonnaroo is a terrible fest. Its hot as fuck, the music doesnt start til like 5pm, lots of annoying kids, lots of cops and busts, and if any good bands play, good luck being able to hear... We went to check out my morning jacket and it felt like we were a mile away, it was so packed. oh and it takes a good 5 hours getting in and out of the festival, the traffic is insane. That said, its the best festival for people watching.

5pm?  music used to start at 10am.  you must be wrong on this


no bonnaroo, haven't been since 08.  would take some damn good bands to get me to ever go down there again. 



did anyone check out Hannibal Buress at the comedy tent?

Haven't been to bonnaroo since 2004 and 2007. As you can imagine, these days it's a custy fest.

I went last year. I had fun at a nice handful of sets, but overall not something I would go to again. Heat didn't really bother me too much. Price in general was pretty nuts though, just in general - food, drinks, ticket, etc. Police presence was definitely a thing. There were some people I really wanted to see, but overall the lineup was nothing to write home about (though the bands that I went to see were great for what it's worth). I had always wanted to go to it though, and was pretty close by at the time. Some people on here had warned me that it wasn't really worth it, but I went ahead anyway.

A lot of stuff back at my camp site got stolen on the last day. They took a 10x20 canopy tent which kind of blew my mind that someone would steal the biggest thing at our site. Some fold up chairs. A small propane grill. Aaaand a cooler that they dumped the contents out of. Nothing was super expensive that they took so I just brushed it off, but I was pretty flabbergasted that someone would do something like that. They took it while Dead and Company was playing on the main stage (they were the last set of the whole festival, and the only ones playing for a few hours), so I have a gist of the crowd that didn't take it at least. :lol:

Kind of over giant festivals like that anyway though. Stuff with lots of pop acts and all that. It wasn't a bad time at all, but I couldn't go every year by any stretch.

Theres only jam bands playing till about 5 pm and the good music starts more at like 8. Yes it was super packed for the people that were good there too. Traffic also blew but I was drinking a lot on the way down so it didn't bother me much. I kinda figured most festivals would be like that - cops busting a lot of people and it being crowded at. I heard the cops were much harsher this year bc the new DA is a dick.

I meant to see Hannibal burress I think he's hilarious I just started tripping way too hard in the middle of the day and forgot to go.

Do other festivals have people playing throughout the day? it got boring when I realized there wasnt really anything fun to do throughout the day so I went out and met people and had fun with that and exploring

I see what you mean I didn't even know who was playing when I bought my ticket I just got it cause all my best friends did and I was bummed I didnt get to go last year. I'm into rap so i didnt see a lot of the EDM music but then I watched flume and marshmellow and I'm actually kinda into that music now it was a lot of fun. The shows werent that crazy but Travis Scott put on a ridiculous show all the people I went with thought he was the best performance. Flatbush zombies was also really good.

That sucks your shit got stolen- one of my friends phones got pick pocketed in line and they caught the guy at the end of the weekend and somebody told me the line for ppl that lost their phones was about a mile long.

I was ill prepared this year and im glad i met a lot of people there that gave me tips and showed me what to and what not to bring. That was my first festival so now I'm really wanting to go to more. What are the prices of other festivals? I bought my ticket off someone for 300 like 2 days before. The food and beer was also really expensive but I didn't buy much there bc i brought in a lot of liquor and snack food I tried to avoid buying shit

All Good was the perfect size festival , always a good lineup, music all day, and a third the price of Bonns. too bad its no more.

Last time I was at Bonnaroo was 2005 or 2006 I think, and back then it was going way downhill.. I can only imagine now.
That fest sucks ass IMO, too crowded, too hot, way too mainstream now, everything turns to mud if it rains, wayyy too many busts....
That festival is basically just a massive cash cow for Coffee County police. They pull in millions every year profiling and busting people coming into the fest. I know sooo many people that have been busted there it's not even funny. Numerous shroomerites as well.
Now as well I hear there are undercovers-a-plenty all over the place there and busts happening inside the fest left and right now too. Fuck that.

All Good was indeed one of the best festivals I've ever been to... Trip's farm was amazing.

Allgood wasn't at Tripp's farm, it was at Marvin's Mountaintop. Jerry's Birthday Bash was at Tripp's farm. That was a sweet fest. Each year I went, big changes followed in my life. Re: Bonnaroo, it stopped being cool after 2003.

that's really odd.  all three years i went, outside of some bigger bands short-sets being late morning/early afternoon, they had most of the folk/bluegrass bands playing in the mornings.  Gillian Welch/Dave Rawlings was the only folk/grass band that had a late afternoon/early evening slot (and on a main stage, not a side-stage), that i can recall

It was my fourth. My wife's third.  They need to have a shit-ton of better bands next year. I swear every song played at the Other stage sounded exactly the same.  RHCP fuckin' killed it though!  I didn't get searched once going into Centeroo the whole time. Too many supplies to name,so let's just say it was fun.  W, l, c, e, and booze.  Lol

I went to the first banarooo if that says anything.  It used to be jam bands.  Probably better fests out there.

I've been 3 times. 05 07 08 (I think)

05 was scary getting in but fun inside

07 a little worse

08 the cops were assholes and the sound sucked and it was too crowded

Security getting in wasnt bad at all they were really just checking for glass or fireworks - however they would choose random cars to go into a cop line where you would get everything but a strip search pretty much
