Strange Colors...

Hi Everyone, this is my first time to post here. I have a question regarding growing P. Cubensis... I've made my first attempt and everything is going smoothly... I think... The Jars are fully colonized and started producing pin-heads even before they had their birthday, which I happen to think was wonderful... However, whenever the pin-heads pressed up against the inside of the jars, they changed colors as if they were bruising... Is this supposed to happen or do I have contaminated Jars. There are no odd colors anywhere else in the jars, they are completely white, aside from the pin-heads changing colors. Today was their birthday and as I've read else where, it says I should take off and pinheads that are black or any odd colors. I do understand the importance of sterilzation, I just want to make sure that these aren't bad cakes. All replys welcome! Thanks,

they're fine, only make sure that the rest of the colonization is white and that there's a good mushroom smell to it, or at least no bad smell to it...the reason im saying this is because once i grew P Cubensis and the jars had a musky smell in them. That shouldn't be a contam either. good luck to you with the rest.

I dont think you have contamination, so dont go throwing your cakes away. I would leave the pins untill you are sure that they arent growing anymore (aborts).

I have what looks like little dark blueish brown little pinheads growing in the corner of the cake, I don't know how they could have gotten blue. there are other white ones beginning to form around them
