According to the court papers his spending has "brought him to the brink of financial ruin".

He's also suing the business managers in question for 25 million. They claim though that not only do they not owe him anything -- but that Depp still owes them over 4 million dollars :lol:

I kinda feel bad for Depp, in a way.  He's one of those celebrities that's been in a bubble for over 30 years, just completely out of touch with the realities of most people's lives.  Since 1984 everyone has loved this guy & his movies, and now all of a sudden he's box office poison and just opening flop after flop.  That's gotta be a strange feeling, having the general public turn on you like that.  But also, it's kind of hard to feel bad for someone with spending habits like these; this shit is pretty superfluous and sounds kinda fun. 

I wonder what happened with the failed 4 million dollar record label?  Like, how?  I know of dudes who started labels out of one bedroom apartments, using 600$ of start-up money that they borrowed from family, and they've grown the label into a complete success by any standard.  How the fuck did Depp sink 4 million into one & see it tank?  Lol. 

He should go back to his roots & do another Nightmare on Elm Street movie.

Speaking of Burnt out actors, has anybody else noticed how hard the media is pushing Keanu Reeves new movie? I thought the first John Wick movie was cheesy AF, I don't see the sequel being any better

I would fucking love that. Those first few Elm Street movies were gold. Depp is great but he has made some bad choices. The last one of his I liked was probably Rango and before that I guess maybe Sweeney Todd? Now he's got stuff like that Pirates of the Carribean movie I'm pretty sure no one is looking forward to. Or there was that Dark Shadows(?) movie from a while ago.. the dude must be just swimming in financial obligations for a guy like him, with his reputation, to be pulling off that crap. The public has turned on him but that's all on him. I used to think he had immaculate selection with which roles he goes for, if that's not the case then he's just been lucky.

That being said, I remember reading that the studio hated his portrayal of Jack Sparrow, I'm pretty sure they even wanted to axe him. He's made some truly memorable characters. I mean, can you imagine anyone else as Edward Scissorhands? I mean maybe.. but it's not much less weird than replacing Ripley.

His movies are flopping, but the dude can still act with the best of them, IMO.

I thought he was phenomenal in Black Mass.

Yeah he's got some decent range. A lot of very well-paid Hollywood "actors" pretty much act the same role in everything they're in. For example Keanu Reeves. In the Bill and Ted movies, Speed, Johnny Mnemonic, The Matrix and every other fucking thing he's in, he is essentially playing exactly the same "dumb guy" character in different costumes and settings.
