calcium carbonate?

I cant seem to find calcium carbonate or crushed oyster shells anywhere?


Where have you guys found these items? LIke what store, brand, and section of the store? I though you could find some of it at pet stores but ive tried every major pet store and local ones.

I get from the internet. I'm 70 miles from the nearest store.

i was going to mention "8 in 1" but their website www.eightinonepet.com does not have it listed, i guess my bag was old stock.

you can find it in the bird section. oyster shells are a calcium supplument for bird. im starting to think that they put this stuff in the premixed food rather then leave it up to the owner to mix, that might be why its so hard to find.

Calcium carbonate (USP grade) I get from my local compounding pharmacy, crushed oyster shell at a local farm & feed store. If you need it for casing, you could probably use pickling lime from the supermarket, or maybe even cuttlefish bones found at pet stores used for bird's calcium needs...

I did some google searching, and couldn't find any store that sells it.
