fear and loathing in las vegas!!!

i've heard from numberous people that fear and loathing was just a made up story and if it wre true he'd be dead :shake:!!! I thought it was true after seeing how burnt out he looked on conan o'brien. im just wondering if the story is true or not. :thumbdown: :thumbup:

I'm sure some of it is exagerrated or whatever through the eyes of someone that totally twisted on drugs.... but I believe it's mostly true

The way I understand it, most of that stuff did happen to HST, just not in the space of a week.

but there are numerous accounts that say HST's drug consumption was rampant.

word has it, that some is true some is fiction. thats HST's style, real events all jumbled around and spiced up with loads of tall tales. He definately did loads of drugs

Some of the story is true, some of it isn't. That doesn't change the fact that Fear and Loathing was one hell of a story.

It was originally supposed to be a factual story of his coverage of the Mint 500 but I guess before publishing it he made about 25 revisions to the story, probably to spice it up. So the final product is partially fictional but alot of that stuff you just couldn't make up so it probably did happen to him at one time.

Click Here for a recent Pub post that has links to some question-and-answer lectures featuring HST. In them he says that Fear and Loathing is about 90% true.
