pinback is awesome. I've seen them once in a small club last december, and they're returning the end of March.

check out 'Penelope', 'Concrete Sounds', 'XIY'.
Get info about their style at www.allmusic.com and look em up.

i'm glad you enjoy them, greenhaze. penelope is one of their best songs in my opinion, but i like their first cd more than the second.

their website said a new album will be out this summer, i can't wait. also they're gonna be in portland so hopefully i'll get to see them finally.

I am from San Diego..where Pinback is from, and have seen them 8 times. Their live shows are great and it's really chill music. Awesome bass player and great harmonies with Rob Crowe and Zac. The band has a pretty good past in other bands. They all involved some way in Optigonally Yours, Three Mile Pilot and Thingy before Pinback. Some of their songs are about Sci Fi stuff. Infact, their name is from Srgnt Pinback in John Carpenters first movie...DarkStar.
I recommend their album Blue Screen Life....and the song Push the Baby Down the Spiral Stairs. I love Pinback.

yeah the first album is great too, and that song you're referring to ("push the little baby down the spiral stairs") is called "Shag".
Off that CD 'Tripoli' and 'Loro' are great

yeah shag is an awesome song, i think loro is my favorite.

i have a few albums by three mile pilot which are a lot like pinback, but i haven't yet heard those other bands. i'll look around for them online.

have you guys heard the offcell EP? it's their newest work i think.
