I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with a band called pinback, but they are absolutely insanely good. Their music is like cogs in a clock all ticking precisely with each other.

Ironically enough I heard one of their songs 'fortress' from an OC soundtrack. I got the CD 'summer in abadon' and after hearing it I immediatly went to amazon.com and ordered all of their other CDs.

Everyone should check them out. Good music to groove to while you're high.

Thank god someone else has discovered this amazing band. Missed seeing them live in town but hopefully I'll have the opportunity to trip to their stuff. Get all three cd's and then go check out the lyrics at http://www.songmeanings.net/ , FYI- Penelope is about his pet fish. Once you discover WHAT they're jamming about it makes it that much better.

Pinback is probably my favourite band of all time. All their albums are brilliant and they have a ton of great unreleased tracks too. It's one of those bands that grows on you and after listening to an album 10 times you're still going to discover amazing things in the music you never noticed before.

I've loved Pinback since their S/T CD. it's only gotten more interesting and intricate--each one little phrase links into the rest of the song so perfectly...
