So I got melanoma.

Gotta have laser surgery in the coming weeks.

When it rains it pours.

Doctor didn't give me a lot of details on it, I have to go see a specialist as soon as possible.  Was supposed to make an appointment today but my phone is broken. 

I wonder why they call getting to 40 over the hill and not the mountain?  It's like I turned 30 and shit came at me from every angle.

I didn't have it looked at for 2 years like a dumbass. 

I had an allergic reaction to something and I thought it was a spider bite, so I went to get it checked out, and when I was there I figured I'd show them this black mass on my foot.  Doc said it's a planters wart gone bad pretty much.  I have to have a specialist look at it to make sure it's benign.

I didn't realize it was a black mass til last week.  It's in a really awkward spot I couldn't see.  When I showed it to someone they were like, fuck man.....you should really go to the ER on that.

Yeah, Melanoma isn't even a big deal with modern medicine these days.

You probably won't even need radiation treatment or anything gnarly, everybody I know who's had it just had surgery remove their shit and they were fine afterwards.

I hope they take care of it man. Best of luck to you, and stay on top of that shit. Melanoma is no fucking joke. Make SURE that shit is taken care of right.

What stage are you in?

Early Stage has 98 percent survival rate. If it's spread to Lymph Nodes it drops down to 63 percent though.

You shouldn't listen to the horror story scare tactics you hear and get your head all fucked up if it's that big of a worry.

I have no clue what stage it is in til I go see the specialist.  The doctor told me from what he sees laser surgery should have me right as rain.

This is my 2nd tumor.

I am in stage 0 after 4 rounds of chemo. On watch for the next two years.

I read in mice with the ginger gene melanoma was found in them with complete lack of sun. 

I'm not too worried about it.  I hope it's benign.  I'll find out in the coming weeks.

I guess it's a good thing I got this allergic reaction though, or I would've just kept disregarding this pain in my foot.

I go to the hospital too much. I hate it.

As long as you are in stage 0-2, and not 3-4, it's just removal of the tumor for the most part and you're fine.

If it's spread to any organs, you'll have to do the full blown treatment.

And koodsie, I'm sure you can just google melanoma, I won't be posting any fucked up pictures of actual Melanoma lesions, but here's some cartoonified examples.

I'm really surprised a melanoma would appear on the bottom of feet. I always thought they developed on areas most exposed to sunlight.

If it was a wart, thats most likely HPV.

Certain kinds of HPV are highly prone to mutate into cervical cancer, I'm not sure about turning to Melanoma or anything like that.

Plantars warts are HPV. I think almost all warts are caused by HPV.
