Not at all man. I'm just tired of people pulling me up over silly little things like this. It has changed drastically since I got the mod flag next to my handle; a good number of people have stated that they had never even noticed me before I became a mod (I believe you said this yourself BD).

Yet suddenly, after 4+ years of relative obscurity in this community, I have people left right and centre complaining as soon as I set a foot out of line. And that's fine, it is what it is, and I accept it, but I'll sure as fuck bite back. I'm not who is quiet or meek, I never have been. I'm a fighter by nature. I'm loud, passionate, aggressive and brutally honest.

So I make no apologies to those that see me in a different light, or hold me to different standards because I'm a mod. Sure, I fuck up from time to time, and always make an effort to apologise and settle things maturely when that happens - surely you caught wind of the fact that Sheekle & I have resolved our differences and have built a newfound respect for each other in the Southpark character thread last night?

I'm not an unreasonable man. Just don't push me with provocatory comments or hold me to different standards than any other member and we'll get on just fine. I do, after all, value community above most things in life, I'm pretty extreme about that, and I do want harmony and for everyone here to feel at home, safe, and welcome. My dedication to that ethos has seen me promoted to team leader multiple times in my life. I say that not to boast but to show how much team spirit matters to me and how that is noted by those that know me well. I don't enjoy having authority, I never have and I've never asked for it, and I despise rules, but those that know me well seem to think that I'm well suited to being in a position of fostering team/community spirit.

It's when people make me feel the opposite of that that I snap. As Sheekle rightfully put last night, I make myself a good target for trolling because it's obvious how to get me to snap. Sobeit.

Anyway, I hope this'll be the last time I have to go off on a diatribe about how differently one is treated as a mod. This is about the third or fourth time now. If anyone has issues about the way I conform myself here, please raise it with me in mature discussion. I'm always happy to talk about such things. Or complain to the admins or something. Or make me snap and laugh about it. Or just ignore me.

For Malcom:

TL;DR - I'm fed up with being treated differently since I became a mod and I'm not gonna change anything about me cause of that flag.

If you don't want to be treated differently for being a moderator, do not be a moderator.  Moderators are held to a different standard for a reason, and due to their privileges and accesses (which are different from those given to 99% of members here), are treated differently.  You're not gonna buck the system; you're not able to dictate how people treat you.  Accept it or jog on. 

I know you didn't ask my opinion and probably couldn't care less, but I feel you are poorly suited to the job.  I'm sure that is no reflection of your "irl" capabilities and skills.  But here, you just don't seem to "get it", particularly in the pub.  Maybe you'll eventually figure it out, but in the meantime, you need to come to terms with certain aspects of this here website.

She's A.D.B.A and A.A.D.R. registered pit bull. I know she looks goofy as hell, but she's actually an extremely well bred dog out of some old school lines. The white dog is pit bull too, no papers though.

I appreciate your insight BD, and if I could revoke the mod flag in the Pub I would happily do so. I've no desire at all to mod the Pub. Didn't know it was part of the role when I took it on. Unfortunately the Admins have set it to 'Entire Staff' - I think because it is agreed between the mods that the Pub is very hard work. Another mod once said to me:

I do actually value your opinion; you speak with compassion and wisdom. I agree that I'm poorly suited to the job in The Pub. I've never had a single problem anywhere else on the site. Community just doesn't seem to be held in high regard here and I'll always be at loggerheads with the fact that people here will hold me to higher standards cause of the flag. I do apologise to those who's threads I've derailed due to my tendency to passionately and loudly say what I think.

However the fact that Sheekle & I have come to good terms gives me faith that building relationships in this environment is possible, it just might take a while. But like you say, the fact that I'm treated different as a mod aint gonna change and I certainly aint gonna change to suit anyone else's expectations of me. It's actually been quite a learning experience all in all, and I suppose as long as I spend time in the Pub there's always a chance it'll kick off for the reasons you succinctly describe above. I don't intend on being here a lot TBH; I have no intention of pissing anyone off, even though there are a good few I have. I know there are more healthy things I could be doing with my time, but it's been a bit of a necessity of late to have the distraction this place provides.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinion in a calm and non-judgemental manner. I appreciate it man.
