I like RA4W, they're cheap and have pretty good customer service. They should work well as long as you don't have a DNS leak, and that's pretty easy to prevent. You can check here for open NIC DNS servers near you.

i use TorGuard. works great. i can torrent at about 3-4MB/s

I did a bit of research on vpn providers and went with mullivad. It's $5/mo, and no harder to setup than a email. I was looking at the more common ones but it seemed that there is a lot of skepticism as to whether they can be trusted... forget the details but mullivad seemed like one of the safer options. Also, they do not keep any records or history of your activity or even information so if the US govt put pressure on them to give up info it would be a waste of time because wouldn't have any to give them.

Why do you need a VPN?
If you are using the Dark Web for personal use, isn't Tor sufficient?

not sure if this was directed at me or op but I'll answer

I'm not doing anything illegal I just prefer to keep my internet usage as private as possible. Tor is fucking slow, my vpn is faster than my internet.

I am travelling abroad shortly and if PayPal detects me in an Asian country 4000 miles away from home they will shut it down until I reverify and royally fuck my online business endeavours.

Make sure you get a vpn that has US servers and lets you select which country your server is in (mullivad does this) otherwise it will appear you are in whatever country your sever is in. That is my understanding at least, someone correct me if i am wrong.

I've been thinking about getting a VPN as well. I'm torrenting a lot more these days and it's making me a bit nervous.
