Frank's Red Hot Sauce sucks... * 2

I'm in a hot sauce mood lately and I've been branching away from sriracha and regular BBQ sauces. I figured I'd try Frank's Red Hot. Everybo seem to like it.... Turns out it really sucks.

It's pretty much salty vinegar with a hint of pepper. Barely spicy.

I am disappoint

I'll try anything else at this point. I'm thinking of just bringing it back to the grocery store for a refund.... It really sucks.

Returning groceries. That's the level that sauce has brought me to.

I just read that Franks red hot is made in Missouri... I thought I could trust the South to make good hot sauce.

I guess I'll have to go further down than Missouri...

Wow that's serious. Yeah loisiana has some kick to it. It is also vinegary though but that's hot sauce for you.

If you enjoy a good mild wing sauce, keep the franks. Throw it over a stove top with some butter, salt and pepper, simmer it for a little bit and toss some wings in it. The butter cuts down the acidity and makes it savory.

I hate when people talk about hot sauce and only focus on the heat
sure that's all some people care about
but for me the flavor is what makes a good hot sauce stand out from the rest

Frank's is good as a white pepper replacement in white sauces, sautes and stuff. The crumb topping my old boss would use for baked fish for instance: saute down some finely diced onion and celery til it starts to brown, hit it with some sherry, Worcestershire sauce and Frank's, reduce it down, let that cool and mix it into some crumbled Ritz, add some chopped parsley. When you're ready to bake your fish lay a good bit of that on top and drizzle with some melted butter. Good stuff.

I put Franks's on my chicken, it's decent, but again I don't use a lot of hot sauce.

The heat is secondary to me. Taste is where it's at. But Frank's is pretty much salted vinegar with a drop of tabasco per bottle...

I don't eat Louisiana sauce because the taste bothers me, and I've had food that is hot. Really hot. It had no taste though. Tobasco has both to me

Frank's is dog shit. So is Valentina, and anything from Louisiana. Cholula and Green Tobasco are where it's at.
