I think you should stop snorting stuff until it goes away. I sure as hell wouldn't snort Tumeric lol. Have you tried Oxymetazoline Nasal Sprays? I am just getting over having walking pneumonia and I used that for the first few days. One nostril would be totally clogged and the other would be dripping. Shit's annoying. I had a sinus infection as well but mine has subsided. Try having our fucking ears clogged now that sucks!!

I doubt cocaine really did any damage besides irritate your nostrils for a day or two. If you were chronic user yes.

My first round of things to try would be a NETTI POT (works wonders), nasal sprays, and anti-inflammatory medication (ibuprofen). If you are just shooting at it with antibiotics your going to build a tolerance to them and make getting over a serious sickness really difficult.

I'm not a doctor but I know what I'm talking about lol.

I'd reccomend a tea of goji, reishi, and ephedra until it goes away. Also eat lots of shiitake mushrooms. Once it's cleared up keep drinking a reishi and goji tea to keep it from returning.

Not to be an asshole. Try the first things I said. They are very basic. Then follow the followers posts after me. Many things can be caused by focusing on it such as acne. If none of this works you need a serious diagnosis of chronic sinus infection because that's an indication of something from another part of the body or simply allergies (HOPEFULLY).

I have found diet to be a significant predictor of sinus mucus and discomfort.

The less beer, gluten, and processed food I eat, the less mucus I have!

I'd get a referral to ENT, and have them to do a work up on you.

I've sniffed turmeric. Not fun. You don't want to just take anti-inflammatories for an infection anyways as inflammation is your bodies way of trying to get rid of it. I'd recommend the neti pot thing too. If you're certain its an infection and antibiotics are necessary yet you're scared to get such a hard course, there are a number of botanical extracts such as oregano oil and olive leaf that are said to be potent anti-microbials. I don't know that they'd work for you, but that's usually my first choice as they tend to be less prone to causing resistance and sometimes spare a chunk of your healthy microflora. Of course nothings perfect though

I feel your pain.

I have had chronic sinus issues for almost 4 years now. Went to an ENT about two years ago and she said my mucous membranes were inflamed but other than that there was nothing to be concerned about.

It's been a super frustrating journey, but I have recently arrived at what I believe to be the cause of my sinus issues and a whole host of other chronic issues. I don't have an official diagnosis, but I believe without a shadow of a doubt that Joint Hypermobility Syndrome (JHS) is the culprit.

I'm sure 15+ years of inhaling drugs up my nose didn't help either!!

Anyway, I'm getting treatment for the JHS, and I'm hoping everything will level out soon.

I personally never had much luck with the neti pot. So many people swear by it, but it always seemed to make my symptoms worse.

The most soothing things for me are diffusing essential oils, inhaling essential oils and warm compresses over my face. I do the warm compress thing morning and night - I wet a wash cloth with really hot water than drape it on my face and take about 10 deep breaths, massaging around my eyes, forehead, temple, sides of my nose and cheeks. I do that 2 or 3 times. Right after that in the morning I'll rub 1 or 2 drops of 100% pure peppermint oil in my palms, then cover my nose with my palms and take 10 deep breaths. This immediately clears my nasal passages, and works better than any prescription nasal spray I've tried.

I don't think I could survive with a chronic sinus infection, when I get a sinus infection my head, eyes, ears, gums, and nose are in a incredible amount of pain.

I really wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Yeah, it pretty much blows. Sucks that it's basically become my "normal" over the past 4 years, but what can you do?

I remember when it first came about I called out of work a bunch and stuff, but then when it just lingered and lingered it's like there's nothing I can do but just try to ease the symptoms as much as possible so I can go about life. Doctors are really no help at all, they just want to stuff you full of antibiotics, antihistamines and steroids.

Yupppp. Inflammation is a nuisance. My sinuses are somehow pretty good despite growing up with a deviated septum and chronic nosebleeds. But it attacks all my sensory nerves. The feeling of lugging around a body that has betrayed you is quite tiresome. And doctors are so far off the mark on these things it makes me wonder what they're learning all those years... I've had a few that were pretty good, but the majority tried to put me on antidepressants and tell me it was anxiety

They don't have to cut anything any more like in the old days...with the new techniques they do it there at the doctors office under local anesthesia and the recovery time is like one or two days not like weeks how it used to be. They open your sinuses inflating a little ballon (very little) in between the six? different sinuses an drain out anything that has been built up inside.

I mean this is one type of new procedure but of course everyone has different problems might not be the best option but you can inquire about it if the sinuses are real bad an nothing else like sprays are working.
