Growing Acacia Obtusifolia and Acacia Maidenii
    #2265197 - 01/23/04 10:35 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

hello fellow botanees, I've received a bag each of A.Obtusifolia and A. Maidenii, (and also more than an ounce of P.Harmala)
Each bag, by the looks of it contains around 300 small seeds, (each seed is half yellow, half black, in colour)
I am probably most interested in planting A.Obusifolia as my research shows it contains the best most functional ingredients, most importantly being  N,N DMT.

Now the questions is, how does one go about successfully making these seeds germinate and grow big, in the least amount of time possible?
How many seeds should I plant, and at what distance should each seed be from another? any other web sites, tips and hints are welcome.

tips and hints for growing P.Harmala are also very welcome too, (you should see the connection there) :smirk:

thanks for helping
peace

The acacias need to be scarified in order for them to germinate.....

They are pretty cold sensitive i think.....so unless you live somewhere warm it will be hard to get big trees going.......

I hear they make good bonsai trees though....

Alot of good acacia info can be had at www.shaman-australis.com  ...just poke around the site a bit....if anything they can answer all your questions on the forums.........

hope that helps

btw:care to trade any of the maidenii seeds?

Peace,
Adam

hey man, thanks for the info neuro and daze, yeh I'm a member of the foroums, and I found out how to get them to germinate. Either soak in boiling water and leave for a day, or crack them open.
Yeah, I' might be interested in a trade, what you thinking of?

Hey, you mentioend you were interested in trading with the maidenii seeds. What do you have in mind?

I've got here like, 1 gram of seeds or more. but there are like over
200 little seeds. (but im just guessing this by eye, could be more)

peace

Easy to grow

treat with boiling water allow to swell o/night and plant all swollen seeds in sandy poting mix about 1 cm below. keep moist but not wet - will germ within a week.
They grow pretty fast

Give them plenty of root space and plant them out around the place - The maidenii is native to Victoria the obtusifolia is not but has gone feral.
Both are pretty so try and sneak them into council plantings for a bit of fun (please dont plant near true bushland though)

You dont have to wait to harvets the bark - the leaves of bth obtusifoli and maidenii can contain usable aounts of alkaloids and its renewable - extract as per usual online teks

good luck
