do all psilocybin mushrooms bruse blue ?

Trying to find different species of shrooms in East Texas other than psilocybin cubensis. Do all active shrooms bruise blue ? I found some brown ones that fit criteria in a book i have but i wasnt sure so I threw them out. Thanks for any input.

most will. the one main one that wont but is still very potent is semilanceatas. but they dont grow there. if there is black spores and blue bruising your stellar or purple brown spores with blue bruising your good to go as well. do some research, this place has a wealth of information.

Not always prominently.  From here you can see the active species in your area that you will want to research.

ya your right, but for more novice hunters i dont recmomend going after orange mushrooms at first. learn your pans and psilocybes first i say.

i would tend to agree.

OP, what interest do you have in hunting psychedelic species other than cubensis here? Most people in other places are envious of the fact that we can get cubes so easily here. Cubes are popular for a reason

lol ya cuz unlike me bending over for hours on my hands and knees trying to find a small brown mushroom the size of a dime you can drive a farm road scopeing giant cubes from the car!!

The best. Whenever I go down US 17, I always see at leat a few patches of roadside cubies just past the barbwire fence. I'd never stop and go in the fields there; they're privately owned and anyone can see you.

But ya Florida is lucky. We usually trip over them there are so many. GET IT???? :laugh2:

Psilocybe semilanceata is one of the most potent psychoactive mushrooms and they hardly ever bruise blue. Why? Because they are super rich in psilocybin and hardly contain any psilocin. However, the blue bruising comes from psilocin oxidizing.
Highly active mushrooms with a low psilocin content don't bruise blue much, if at all.
Weakly active mushrooms naturally won't bruise much at all either. Of course, because they neither contain much psilocybin nor psilocin. Check the base of the stem for blue bruising with these.

you need to start your own thread man.  look for "POST"  on the right side above the forum stickies

use the template for ID request and include information like where you found them
