fifth element * 1
    #2233469 - 01/10/04 05:44 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

i saw this movie in parts many times but this is the first time i watched it all the way through, its definately worth watching.
one thing that was particularly fun is regognizing the actors.
like the guy who played mason verger in hannabal. same guy who played Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg. it took me a while to recognize it thogh since he was so disfigured in hanibal.
oddly enough, i also knew he played dracula in brahm stokers dracula. i remember that movie because tom waits played reinfeild.

the preist was bilbo!! bilbo baggins, whenever he scurried about it was like lord of the rings all over again.
then it occurred to me he was also the post- stroke delusional masonic jack the ripper in "from hell".
he was also ash in alien.
and it was chris tuckers funniest role.
just my POV

I remember hearing something about it taking the guy who wrote it something like 9 years. Anyone else hear that?

I don't know if it took him that long, but I remember hearing that he wrote the film when he was in his early teens and that the film was this big life's work of his. I have it on DVD, i think ill watch it.

awesome, awesome movie.
it's one of those films where every single actor carries the weight of their role so perfectly that it makes the script feel like a real story and not just another action film that was made to net the huge studios some more cash. i'm gonna buy this on dvd soon methinks.
