WR's Saint Pete extraction tek

This tek uses dry Pedro powder and gives a good clean product.
WR :rasta:

150 g has been dried,powdered and acidified with 3ml con H2SO4/500ml H2O.

A blend of toluene and xylene is defatting using a THOROUGH blending to create an emulsion of the whole extraction.

Excess is added to form a persistant layer above the emulsion.

This has taken up more "color" quicker than any other method I have used.

The excess layer will be changed out and reblended until it reforms with no color.

This has decolorized the extraction mass by at least 50% already.

Once clear, mass will be dried to powder and extracted into methanol and basified with NaOH solution.

This will be concentrated and extracted using naphtha.

Naphtha extracts will be concentrated and the salt will be formed by titration with H2SO4 to form the sulfate.

By using the extreme contact area of the emulsion I hope to achieve a more complete wash of this stage. IMHO this is where I have retained contaminants from this A/B before.By washing ALL color from the emulsion then drying off the solvents I hope to have a very clean product by the time I begin extracting the freebase alkaloids.Forming the salt should give the product some limited stability if completely dry and kept in the freezer.

Day 2 will continue to defat.Extraction mass has gone from a lime green to a pale beige green in two passes. I will be defatting til no color is present.Setting jar on the dryer while it's running has cut the separation time way down due to the slight vibration from the dryer.I believe two more passes will come clear and leave an off white extraction mass to dry then redisolve in alcohol and basify the extracts.
I am expecting close to a gram of mescaline sulphate yeild
