killer mice (pic)
    #2225968 -

I thought mice were vegitarians...
but now i'm looking at a program called 'built for the kill' on national geographic channel about the grasshopper-mouse.
It eats spiders, scorpions and ofcoarse grasshoppers.
I thought all mice were friendly little creatures: NOT!

here's a pic:

i thought vermon(rats) were scavengers, not particulary vegetarian or carnivore. they eat whatever they find in other words

Well, as long as all it eats is those bugs, I think they're better than regular house mice!

holy shit! that would be the tightest pet ever! i would feed it soo much. i would get so much entertainment out of it that it would get to be like 300 pounds. pretty soon i would train it to eat all my enemies. and maybe my friend's feet. i'd show them who's boss....of that fat mouse that eats peoples feet.

if you want a pet that eats crickets and bugs get an iguana or one of the many reptiles. i was never really into the whole mice and gerbels for pets though.

WHoA!

Don't feed an iguana any kind of animal protiens. They are foliavores, meaning they are specialized herbavores that only eat foliage. I still see iguanas in pet shops with a hand ful of crickets in thier cage. It makes me want to cry when i see that. Even when i point it out to the pet shop owners, they act like i have no clue what i am talking about. That is, until i go there the next day with many pages of proper iguana care.

Sorry to go off on a rant there, but anytime i see something like this i have to speak up. After all, this site is all about stopping the spread of mis-information.

Chameleons are great. They make real good "look at" pets if taken care of properly. My chameleon provided me many hours of entertainment while shrooming. Poor thing died when i went on vacation and the person that was supposed to be taking care of him did not. :frown: The guy that ws taking care of my animals while i was gone wasn't close enough to come over every few hours and mist the chameleons enclosure, which is very important. In hindsight i realize i should have gotten a cool mist to start with. I never got one because i always made sure things were humid all the time anyway, so i didn't see the point. That is, until i got back. :frown: But that's in the past and i know i was the one at fault.

Also, no hard feelings about my rant from before. Just trying to make sure the right info is there, especialy when it comes to something i know.

Take it easy,
snakeman
