Japanese gumball machine mushroom figurines.

Saw these figurine on a site today. Made me think of everyone here. They are meant to be little figures to warn people on not what to eat. That's why they are posed as if they had stomach aches.

Now to go find them!

I've heard they grow here. I remember watching a TV show in which a kid was in love with mycology. His favorite mushroom was the Amanita. He was really excited when he found one in the woods. Japanese believe them to be highly toxic.

Hey now....I'm asian!!

No but the fear mongering in Japan about drugs is pretty lame.

When some one is caught growing one weed plat, it makes the news with dramatic music and pixalated faces.

Or maybe the figurines are for people who know and take with them on hikes to compare :P

i agree, appears to be Amanita sp. sect. Caesareae and Amanita sp. sect. Vaginatae, very cool.  I like the bowing ones.

About maybe 5% are bilingual, so they only believe what they are told and can not do their own research unless it's in Japanese, and there is a lot of misinformation here!

The figurines are pretty cool.. maybe a little creepy but they're neat. If I came across them in a gumball machine, I'd load my pockets full.
