Agreed. It was goofy and funny. A bit dated but, such are all 90s sitcoms now.

Based on episodes watched I even liked Married With Children better

All time greatest TV show. Thats a hard one, for Americans its probably unwatchable because you miss most of the european references but 'Allo 'Allo was very good.

South Park is a sitcom, bassfreak.  Situational comedy.

abltsandwich:  if there was one thing I could change about Seinfeld, I'd remove the laugh track.  The show was filmed in front of a studio audience though, so they had to keep it consistent, or just have no laughter at all (which I would've preferred, but not much to do about it now).

its on comedy central. its not a citcom

also last season storylines carried throughout the season so it was a TV show

but yeah south park > seinfeld

Watch peep show. I go back and forth over which i like more all the time, but the main character is exactly like george (my fave character of any tv show). Its really good and on netflix.

Indeed, this is probably the best scene, along with the one in DustBunny's signature and a few others I can't recall right now. I love Seinfeld, I've seen every episode several times. Still not sure if I'd call it the best show ever but it ranks high among my favorites.

Seinfeld is pretty decent as sitcoms go and it had a huge cultural influence, but after seeing it enough I'm just kind of sick of the characters, except maybe George. Nowhere near the greatest show of all time for me. Still worlds better than Friends, another similarly popular show with pretty much the same premise that came a little later. Smug unlikable characters and the comedy is just awful. Joey and Phoebe are probably the least intolerable main characters, and even those two really really suck. But they still raked in money like nuts.

I don't think another show has been able to capture the subtleties of life the way seinfeld has, and I think it's so enjoyable for me because it's so relateable.


"how much to you tip a wood guy, gardener, etc."
"independent George vs relationship George / Worlds collide"
"the loud talker"
"uncle leo"
etc.
A million other small situations that you forget about everyday while going through life.


South park is a really good tv show too, but I have a certain level of respect for the show having real actors to pull the comedy, instead of a cartoon where anything is possible for a laugh.
both have really consistently good material though, which is really admirable :thumbup:

all-time great show

I fell in love with the show after the 2 week period following 9/11 where virtually every second was news coverage on 9/11

I remember sitting in my garage smoking out (had a TV in the garage) and they FINALLY gave the news coverage a break -- and filled the airtime with a Seinfeld marathon that started at midnight.

I literally sat in my garage from midnight until 6 in the morning smoking and watching Seinfeld.

been a huge, huge fan ever since

The episode where Elaine big head was getting in the way of everything... Like the bird that flew into it and the guy said "it's like it couldn't avoid hitting it." That was the best. And Elaine dancing. And "a dingo ate your baby."
