This is another thing that I will never understand. Nobody was going to remove OTD. True, removing OTD was a poll option (to be complete and fair in the poll), but it was doing very poorly. The most likely outcome, based on the public opinion poll (before it was corrupted by puppets), and on the staff's opinions and recommendations, was simply to make OTD a hidden, members only, forum with FAR LESS rules and MORE FREEDOM!

I truly don't understand how this equates to removing OTD, but I guess it's more exciting to think that "bad people" are going to delete your precious forum -- it is more dramatic, and more like a made for TV movie that way...

Sorry, if that statement was smirk-ful, or otherwise full of smirk, but but I've been listening to needless drama, speculation, and downright bullshit, for almost three weeks now, and I am full of "smirk"...

PS: Sombie, 3D was in support of temporarily suspending OTD. If he felt strongly against it, then he should have spoken up earlier, and he didn't. He actively engaged in the conversations related to OTD's suspension and its future, and he did NOT object to any of it until well after 10 days into the project, when he just suddenly decided he didn't like the hidden forum idea, and he abruptly pulled the plug on the entire project, without any consultation of the administrative staff. Sadly, this is indicative of a pattern of behavior, which is not conducive to working in a group. Would you still be as concerned if he acted unilaterally, in this instance, to delete OTD? Are you really in favor of living under ONE benevolent dictator, so long as he hasn't banned you or destroyed what you love? If so, then what will happen to you, when he does something you don't like, because you will have NO RECOURSE -- much like a few banned members I can think of -- his opinion is final, and there won't be any other Admins to appeal to. You seem to be terribly misinformed about the nature of this situation and about the facts involved.

PPS: Calbha, if you truly want to be unregistered, then PM me, and I take care of it. I hate to see you suffer like this. This goes for anyone else as well. I hate to see people needlessly suffering.

PPPS: Sammi, I do NOT agree that "3D did all he could to try and reason with the other admin on this whole thing. But no one would listen to him." I tried to work with him, and I have tried smooth this whole thing out. I don't think he has communicated effectively in this situation, and unfortunately, that is part of the larger problem. I like 3D, and I am happy to work with him, but his communications and actions have not been conducive to helping create a good administrative environment. That being said, I still welcome him to reconsider, and will work with him and the others to smooth this over. However, The administration is now going to consist of several equal members with equal say. We are NOT going to have all of the power in one person's hands again. This site is too important to allow that to happen!

Then you should have spoken up! Communication -- there's no reason you can post more, when you feel strongly about an issue. Instead of waiting untill it's too late and just acting unilaterally.

Additionally, even if you were against the suspension, and had stated as such, if you were out-voted by the other Admins, then it doesn't matter. This site is run by a small group of Admins. That way, we don't live under tyranny.

You may remember that I also had my reservations initially about OTD's suspension -- where were you then? Why didn't you speak up, or at least PM me telling me that you were against it as well. I spoke of my reservations in both the Mod forum and Admin forum, and Geo communicated with me, and spoke his mind, and in the end, I agreed that it was a worthwhile experiment. If you had actively participated in the discussions forcefully, then things might have been different.

Again, this is nothing personal, and I have no problems with working with you, but things have to change structurally for the best interests of this community. I wish you would re-consider your decision. Ythan, Thor, Geo, Anno, and myself, are not out to get you. It's just that certain things have to change, and in the long run, these are changes for the better.
