I find it odd that not a single nuke has been stolen and used by a psycho yet.

It would seem that after 70 years and thousands of nukes produced, that at least one of them wasn't stolen. Different countries, different security, different armies and protocols. The soviet union collapsing etc. Not a single one went missing.

Either our the governments are experts at protecting nukes or experts at concealing mishaps.

There are 17300 nuclear warheads to steal on this planet. It's bound to happen at some point right?

Its probably because most lunatics who may want to steal one wouldn't know what to do with it once they did.

Agreed. I can't believe it hasn't happened yet either. Also, why hasn't some psycho put germ warfare chemicals in the water supply yet. It is like when you drive down the road.We just trust others not to cross over and hit us head on. Yet it doesn't usually happen. I have anxiety about that stuff all the time.

I have those thoughts sometimes, too. I don't have anxiety about it, but the fact its possible crosses my mind.

if it happened, why do you think it would be plastered all over the news?

the world is full of dangerous scary things that kill people that the general public is not made adamantly aware of for really simple reasons.

I basically got to the point where I just said "heck with it, anything could happen at any given time. Just gonna let it go & enjoy life".

Anyway, I had no idea there were that many nukes but I hope to God they stay in (relatively) sane hands

A nuclear bomb nearly exploded over North Carolina in the 60s.  It failed like multiple failsafes and very nearly went off.  I would imagine there are numerous other instances of near disaster that remain classified.

This was a hilariously informative piece by 'John Oliver' of HBO regarding the nukes and how we keep them.. It is astonishingly pathetic how poor the amount of care is put into the controlling Nukes and the pathetic people in charge of controlling them and what they do to 'not' protect determined Psychos from getting access to these nukes
