Didn't watch it didn't care. Boxing has been a joke for a long time. Obviously it was fixed. Follow the money. One lv judge already came forward. Why I don't know. Collect your money and shut up.

I think it possibly taints his entire career, I really do. It was the most watched fight ever, and people expected him to go all out. And we get that? For $100? The fuck? And now apparently he had major surgery today on a torn rotator cuff. Okay that may be a legitimate excuse for his pathetic punch output, but in reality it's even worse because there are rumors out there now that Team Pacquiao knew about the injury but were scared that if it leaked the fight would be delayed. So now the buying public feels as if he just took the 100 plus mil and knowingly went in there as damaged goods.

Supposedly he has been named in like 5 lawsuits already, lmao, dead serious. What a motherfucking disaster.

I have a horrible shoulder that has had major surgery on it and i still whoop some ass when needed.




I feel like its a taint on Roach too who has been a class act through and through. Like wtf he should have said “hey manny you gotta put some soul into it man, even if you lose thats not the worst case scenario”


Everyone already hates floyd he doesn’t give a fuck...
Manny was actually beloved and a good guy, its sad to see him give in like that.

And don't get me wrong, by no means do I mean it's an excuse for why he lost. Once you step inside the ring all excuses go the fuck out the window. I do think though now hearing the confirmed news of the surgery, it can partly explain (to me anyway) for the 400 punch output. I mean yeah obviously Floyd is amazing defensively and that had a big part in it, but damn, Maidana threw like 1,000 on him.

But whatever what's done is done and it's a one sided UD in the books for Floyd.

And it still just boggles my fucking mind...6 years of hype and $100 PPV, and we got a fight where each guy landed his career low in punches landed. :lol:

Lomanchenko was the most exciting guy on the card

This fight was really damaging to the sport. It absolutely demolished the PPV record (previous was like 2.5 or 2.6 million buys and there are reports out there saying that this will exceed 5 million) because it captured the imagination of all the casuals, and had it been an entertaining fight, it would've really helped the sport because there were so many new viewers tuning in to see what all the fuss was about.

Instead they got treated to the boxing equivalent of Tylenol PM and will never watch boxing again.

Man Loma can fight. Some regard him as one of the best amateur boxers of ALL-TIME...he has a high ceiling and could be a legit star down the road. Hell in his 3rd ever professional fight he dispatched one of the elite prospects in the sport (Gary Russel Jr, 24-0 at the time) with relative ease. Loma is the goods.

I thought it was a decent fight, but then again I’m not one of the guys that needs to see two brutes fight in a telephone booth. I can appreciate the mental side. I just feel like we all got fucked by Pac.

Mayweather fought the way May fights everyone. Pac didn’t even look like the same guy, and then he’s gonna go say May is a coward that ran all fight?

Oh no doubt, me too, I mean any hardcore boxing fan knew that this was extremely likely to go to the cards, neither guy has had a KO in years. Floyd's last legit KO (and I don't count the Ortiz sucker punch) was in 07' (Hatton), and Manny's was in 09' (Cotto).

I really think a bunch of casuals were expecting a bloodbath with knockdowns all over the place and a KO to end it :lol:

That said, the fight literally produced zero memorable moments. For the 6 years of hype and the PPV price tag, it was a shit fight all around. Manny of course deserves the majority of the blame because the onus was on him, that said, Floyd was Floyd, and Floyd is just boring as fucking rocks. No doubt technically he is just about flawless and I of course respect that, but from an entertainment standpoint Floyd isn't there to please the fans -- he's there to counter enough and jab enough off his backpedal to win rounds. And he does that better than anyone else on earth. Uneventful and boring as fuck but extremely effective.

I will say however that he is probably the most prolific defensive fighter in the history of the sport.

Personally i like boxing for the skill of the fighters and the atmosphere the sport produces.


If i wanted to see 2 jerkoffs swing their pants off. Ild watch brodudes fight eachother.

The footwork, the precision, the defense, that is what defines the sport IMO. I get what your saying about fighters entertainment value and I’m probably preaching to the choir here but just because you move around and are technically sound doesn’t mean you are a pussy, just look at a guy like GGG, hugely entertaining fighter and also very skilled.


Thats what bothers me about the MMA/Casual crowd. Getting hit a lot doesn’t mean you have “balls” it means you suck at fighting......
Im not even a fan of guys like that. JCC Jr fights just hurt to watch. Plus if you are smart you realize there is life after boxing, getting hit that hard in the face that many times over a career is horrible for your health. The last really good bloodbath I saw was Provodnikov/Bradley and that had to be a few years ago now.


As far as the health of boxing at large goes, just wait till GGG fights Ward. That shit is going to be sweet.


MMA is dead I’m getting pretty sick of the comparison. A fucking woman is the face of the sport and she’s only popular because she’s pretty fucking hot and people just wanna see her tits. Plus the fix is so obvious they should just admit its fake at this point

Speaking of GGG, it boggles my mind how he's not more popular. Dude has KO'd his last 18 opponents, is a likable guy, and has a KO% that sits there at 91%. Yet every single one of the casual fans who helped make the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight smash PPV records don't even have a clue who Gennady is.

Outside of Gennady fighting Canelo, Cotto, or Ward, if HBO put him on PPV it probably wouldn't even crack 400K buys.

Yeah there's no question about it, the art of boxing at the end of the day is to hit and not get hit. Bottom line.

That said I would like the sport to eliminate holding to an major extent. Yeah there's going to be natural occurrences where holding occurs, and I don't mind a guy holding if he's hurt, but when a guy holds just because a dude gets close -- that shit needs to be extinct. Fighters are littered throughout the sport that use holding as a loophole for defense. That shit is gay as fuck.

Clinching doesn’t really bother me either. I though you can get docked a point for it if you do it excessively?

I mean there needs to be a way to get a guy out of your grill. You can’t push the guy (as far as i know)

Like dude, I respect that defense is a part of boxing but Jesus Fuck, at some point you have to be willing to exchange. Fancy footwork? Sure. But if that's all you got for 12 rounds shit watch Dancing with the Stars for free.

Yeah you can get docked, but that's usually after about the 347th hold, give or take 20 holds :lol:

Jumping on a dude and holding him to negate his offense is atrocious. It's a loophole for defense. Sure there will be natural occurrences of holding, and guys will (and should be able to) hold after getting hurt, but holding to negate offense...I don't see the sweet science behind that at all.

Oh and by the way clinching & holding are actually 2 different things -- clinching is where you're engaged with your opponent, but you can still work if you have a hand free. That's legal. Holding is where you have your opponent completely wrapped up and the ref has to intervene & separate.

Yeah if you're smothered I agree. But it happens all of the time where guys will immediately tie their opponent up when he gets even remotely close.

One of the most extreme examples I can think of is Amir Khan when he fought Luis Collazo. Everybody knows that Khan is notorious for his weak chin, and his entire game plan that fight was to immediately wrap up Collazo as soon as he got anywhere near him. Then he'd reset and keep the fight at long range (where he needs to be to be successful)...and then Collazo would try to close distance, and when he did, Khan would immediately jump on him and tie him up. Every. Fucking. Time. It was a rinse & repeat of that for the entire fight.

But hey, I guess I can't blame Khan for that shit...as the ref was allowing him to do it. But still I really wish they'd curb that shit when guys start abusing it.
