Super Troopers 2

Well, a week or two ago, Broken Lizard started a indigogo crowd fundraiser for Super Troopers 2.

The goal was to hit 2 MILLION in 1 MONTH. Being a huge fan of the first movie when it came out, I was really hoping this crowd funding would do well.

I saw the fund raiser the first day it started at around $35,000. I thought that was pretty cool and hoped it would keep gaining momentum so we see some more mustache rides later this year.

Well, the next day I remembered the crowd fundraiser was still going, so I decided to check out where it was at. I was hoping it had gained like a hundred thousand, so maybe by the end of the month, they'd hit the goal.

I load up the page and see OVER 2 million dollars was raised, in less than 24 hours. MOTHER OF GOD... They're currently near 3.5 million and have 15 days to go.

Who else is waiting on this?

now if only people cared about cancer as much as they did about super-troopers we'd be alright..

I wonder if those donators will be paid back after the movie rakes in millions..

I did not like that movie.


For many reasons.

Mainly, I thought it was a typical phony love story mixed with cheesy stoner humor.

I didn't like those harold bones kummar movies either.  They kind of made me angry.

Its hilarious dude.
Yeah, its definitely stupid and stereotypical, but its funny as fuck, which makes up for it.
How'd you feel about Beerfest?

I didn't like beer-fest either.. I saw parts of it, I couldn't.


I feel sorta bad for not liking these movies. Since they do make people happy, I recant my offer to start up a fundraiser to cancel this movie.



Let them eat cake.

I really liked super troopers and I hope they will make a second one, but can someone explain why they are asking money from people instead of some billion dollar company such as fox searchlight or whoever?

The company they are working with that would have paid to produce the movie, said they will only pay for distribution. So, the Broken Lizard crew has to pay for production themselves. Crowd funding to the rescue, in under a day. Glorious!

I'll probably watch this movie just for the fuck of it.

I liked hot tub time machine .... So much that I watched a shitty version of the sequel on solarmovie.

It was kind of creative in a dumb way. I do dig the crowd funding, that is amazing.  I want to start a campaign of sorts to earn money.

I was thinking of funding a trip to go around some place and take pictures to make albums for people shit 1,000 people x 20 bucks an album $20,000 might be able to break even and get a paid vacation. could even gimmick buying people random souvenirs if they donate more or something idk the possibility of crowd funding are endless too many people have too much money to buy dumb shit with.
