I think your bigger mistake was trying to hang on to a highschool sweetheart.Long distance relationships can work, but highschool kids really just need to let their highschool loves go... my wife and I were in a long distance relationship for probably 3 years before we were able to move to the same city. We were both reasonably mature when we met (her being 20 me 23)
We were only 3.5 hours apart so we were still able to spend time together at least once a month if not every other week. We've been married 6 years now. Long distance can work, but this chick obviously was not trustworthy. Trust is a major necessity in any long distance relationship.

Was the show you were on Big Brother?  Its the only show that I can think of that you live together and win trips while voting each other out. 

The only thing I cant make sense of, 1st place on Big Brother is 500k.
