Reporting gunshots

Does anyone here bother to report gunshots, I of course mean if you live in an area where it's illegal (and dangerous) to be firing off weapons. I've done it before (because they were going fucking nuts with it and I was afraid of taking a stay bullet) and am now debating whether I should again. I don't know exactly where they're coming from, only a general vicinity. This isn't the country with wide open spaces, this is a tightly packed subdivision.

Has happened 3 times in the last 15 minutes. Twice they unloaded either a 7 or 9 round mag in rapid succession, the 3rd was a single shot. I'm positive they're gunshots, not just fireworks. They're also pretty close by.

I generally go by the idea that you don't mess with me, I won't  mess with (call the cops on) you, but when you're that close by and firing off a gun at 1:30 in the morning, in a neighborhood, I really have to question your gun safety (and in that, have to wonder if one of those bullets might come tearing through my walls).

i personally wouldn't call.. unless it was REALLY close by, and loud, but i think you should call. even though i would want to call, i'd rather not deal with police even if it's through a phone..

i wouldnt be surprised if someone else called already.

I don't like dealing with the police either. Then again I don't like the idea of being accidentally shot in my own home because someone got drunk at 1:30 and wanted to show off their new piece to their friend..

I also hate dealing with police in any situation but thinking about the poor kid bleeding to death would possibly bother me to the point of calling. I'm from a very rural area so I don't even bat an eye to shots and haven't really been around rough areas. I'm sure theirs some instances where someone's just bein a gangsta g and just popin some capz and nothing and missing.

When I was going to university, me and my ex had apartments in el paso.  About 10pm on a saturday i was doing homework and a couple shots rang out.  I looked around and wasn't gonna report it, but then this one dude who was renting called me and said, call the police and tell them someone took a shot at him.  Then he said, but don't tell the police my name.  Hmmmm...

So I called the cops, and a few minutes later i heard them outside, and opened the door.

Fuck, the dude had a cocked shotgun pointing at me.  So I told him what happened, and he asked his name, when I gave it, the said, so this is where he lives.  :lolsy:

We went up to his apartment and looked around 2 bullet holes in the door jamb.  Then about a month later the guy turned up, but we had already evicted him because he didn't pay fucking rent. 


And when we cleaned his apartment up i found a little bag of coke and about an eighth of bud in a drawer.
