Hello:

I'm having this trouble too, haven't been able to visit the site at all for a few months now. I've always visited as a guest (just created my account today to report this), but I just decided to try from a different place and noticed I can read and use the site without issue. At home, I get a 403 forbidden no matter what computer and browser I use, in all shroomery pages, so I'm guessing my whole IP range has been banned or I've been assigned an IP from a banned user, or something similar. Or it could be that my ISP is blocking access, although they have no reason to do so and I think I'be be getting a 404 instead of a 403 if it was an ISP issue. I might be wrong, though.

Is there anything I can do? I'm rather hesitant to post my personal IP here. Thank you!

Wow the site is still up, I've been having the same problem for almost a week but when I went to websitedown.info it said the shroomery was down. Right now I'm viewing via a german proxy, I wonder why it works only with a proxy...

I when to ythans twitter to see if he had posted a reason for site being down but was nothing, also all the links he posted had the same '403 forbidden' problem as the shroomery...

I guess I can keep using a proxy but would be nice to just click my bookmark...

Yeah, for what I read, the amount of people getting 403s and having to use proxies indicates something going on, either liberal banning (i'm not saying it's unjustified, just that it's really common compared to other places) or maybe probably something funky going on with ISPs deciding what we are allowed to read.

Still don't have access from home. :frown:

nope its none of that zanchito as it started on many different ISP at the same time... Ythan says its something to do with CloudFlare and i think it has to do with a recent major flaw detected with the encryption protocol, somehow this started to happen after the upgrade...

come to think of it, could it be that certain ISP didn´t upgrade their shit and that´s why cloudflare is blocking certain users?

That would be surprising, as I'm not using SSL (and neither does shroomery, for that matter). I hadn't heard about Cloudflare, though, I'll look for info on that, thank you!

Zanchito, what browser are you using and do you have any extensions? 

The only thing that'd clash with Cloudflare to cause this client-side is the browser integrity check being enabled.  Ythan has way more technical experience in his left nut than I do in my entire body, so he probably already knows this, but I figured I'd throw it out just in case. :shrug:

Have been reading on CloudFlare and I don't think I can do anything on my end other than going through a proxy.

- 403 is returned at home using Chrome, Firefox or IE10 under Win7. Chrome has some standard developer extensions, and Firefox and IE have no extensions except for flash.

- Under the same circumstances but using one of those websites that send you through a dynamic proxy, I can see the page without issues.

- Using either Vodafone or Jazztel as ISPs, 403. Using Movistar at work, it works.

Would it help if I post a Whois record taken from home or something like that? I've been able to visit in the past, but I've been getting a 403 for a few months now.

Hey I just opened up the shroomery twice without a proxy, hopefully its not temporary. If not thank you ythan and whoever else helped to solve problem, I will be able to view flash again

I finally managed to access the site without a proxy and everything seems to be working fine now. Hope that this will be fixed soon for others as well. :cheers:

We had already allowed the Cloudflare IPs in our firewall and also in mod_cloudflare, which is an Apache module. It rewrites the Cloudflare IPs to the original user's IP in our server logs, but another feature is that it can block access from non-Cloudflare IPs for security reasons. We had this enabled and it worked fine, however, Cloudflare recently started using some new IPs which I was not aware of. We just had to update the list of IPs that are owned by Cloudflare. It was really simple in retrospect, but very frustrating to track down because I thought the access list was already properly configured. I'm thrilled it's fixed now though, and I'm really sorry for the long delay! :cheers:

You should yell as loudly as possible at them through an email.  Shit like that really does deserve at least an email to their clients as a heads up.  There wasn't even anything on their blog about it.
