pasturizing poo
    #2079484 - 11/07/03 03:21 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

hi
i need to do the poo and the tek says i have to get the temp in between 160-175 degrees far. and cook for 30-40 mins. but my therm only goes to 158 deg and its an outdoor senser one.
ive been trying to find a cake one but am having trouble doing so.
can it be pasturized at 150-155 degrees for longer time or is it necessary to have it between the right temp as the tek?

You should get a candy therm. It works well for pasteurizing bulk substrates in a hot water bath. The advantage of pasteurizing poo is that you don't really need a therm since you can pasteurize it in the oven. Just pop it in the oven at 170-180F for a couple hours.

Go to the kitchen section of wal mart and get a meat therm for 2 bucks. Jab it through the pillow case and into the poo and leave it there while youre cooking it. Then youll know what temp the poo is, not the water.

I know the way I currently do it is to grind up cow patties by hand, mix this with buffered peat moss, throw in some oyster shell for some nice body wet this down with water mixed with a little iodine , divide this up amongst foil pans , and bake. It really doesn't stink to me it smells more like a barn or wet grass , however, my roommates don't care for it to much.
