What do you use to clean your bong?

I am trying to get a few ideas since I am a little strapped for cash and am looking for an easy and cheap way to clean glass smoking devices... All suggs welcome! :smile:

I soak my pieces in alcohol, with my bong I usually use just use paper/pipe cleaner with alcohol. i'm so lazy though my smoking stuff is never clean, only on special occasions with other people i clean.

oxy clean works alright, you got to let it soak awhile though. or any solvent would work real good, mineral spirits,naptha,ethanol. but if you use a solvent make sure to wash the piece out real real good :wink:

i wouldn't use a solvent. ever poured jack daniels in ur bong. it will stink until eternity. use a degreaser.

High proof alcohol (isopropyl is good) along with an abrasive.  Some people use pipe cleaners and such, but a very easy way to do it is to just throw some salt in with the iso and swish it around for a minute or two.  You may have to repeat this process a few times to get every nook and cranny clean, but it works quite well ime  :bong:

Out of all the things I've tried, this method works best for me.

yup...i like a tin of denatured alcohol. you can get them cheap too..about 2$ for a gallon...

oven cleaner works good for glass too...like the charred, burnt on stuff. oven cleaner.

If they're pyrex, you can boil them in a pan of water. Or soak them in water and oxyclean. Or alcohol and salt.

I've used alcohol and salt.. it works pretty good. I'd usually warm my pipe by running warm water from the faucet through it for a while, soften up the gunk.

But honestly what worked BEST wasn't alcohol and salt.. but acetone and salt.. chem lab grade acetone, no scents or stabilizers like in nail polish remover. That crap dissolved everything, right quick, and a bit of salt in there, woosh it around.. cleaned everything quick.

i use something called CLR and a bottle brush cleaner, heh.

except in the end the bottle brush looks pretty black and gross..

I use isopropyl rubbing alcohol 91% and plain table salt.
Put it in a ziploc bag and shake for you small pieces, and just shake up your with rubbing alochol + salt inside.

Works like a Charm.

I use a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to get the tight spots.

Gives me shiny bongs like these:

I don't have a bong but a good friend of mine uses salt with rubbing alcohol along with some pipe cleaners....does the fucking job. Every time he does it it looks brand new.
